In general you’re saying that you support people being able to destroy property just because they feel like it. It’s essentially allowing people to throw tantrums like children.
Mom and pop store of mega corporation, it shouldn’t be ok to vandalize their property. Protest? Sure. Damage? No. Regardless of the size or success.
He didn’t say he supports it, just that he doesn’t care. This thread is odd. Lots of posters trying to argue with the pro vandalism crowd that doesn’t seem to exist.
This is really where I am too. You hit it on the head with people blindly following by their political affiliation. I think it’s technically called identity politics. That coupled with confirmation bias and it’s not a good thing.
The two party system can be pretty toxic in that regards. The parties both know the hot buttons and push them with statements and agendas that elicit emotions…all in an attempt to make people stop thinking.
I mean he’s the one who said it. He flat out said he condones vandalism against big corporations.
And I agree with you regarding lack of pro-vandalism posts in this thread and that’s kinda the point of my replies to him. While the rest of us pushed back against the OP’s premise he was the one who said he was ok with it. So I questioned him.
So I agree, we’re not really having much debate but not unreasonable to question the lone poster who is in support of it, I think.
So intimidation through violence for political reasons?
I’ll leave the definition of terrorism according to Oxford here to let you attempt to differentiate. Godspeed.
The calculated use of violence or threat of violence to inculcate fear. Terrorism is intended to coerce or intimidate governments or societies in the pursuit of goals that are generally political, religious, or ideological.
I’m glad the current administration is not affecting you. It must be nice to not have to worry and deal with the stress. It is affecting me personally and yes I have had to make some major changes in my life at the moment. It’s also affecting people close to me. No these are not “normal times” for many of us, sadly.
