Had to laugh and come straight on here when I saw this at the bottom of the latest French Riviera email they sent out.
I hope this is just 2nd season teething problems with them trying to get it right, but how are they expecting people to sign up to the age group racing at a relatively high cost - when they can’t even stick to dates and places that they are advertising?
While I completely share your sentiment, if they’re going to do the final in December (and there are reasons to stretch it into December), that limits their options. The northern hemisphere is mostly cold, Southeast Asia and South Africa are warm but rainy, South America is a niche location and so you’re left with what: the Canary Islands, Middle East, Oceania or Mexico?
Ironman has a very strong foothold in southeastern France with Nice (long time running, rotating WC, 2019 70.3 WC) and Aix en Provence (fan favorite, great reputation).
They even made Aix a Pro Series race this year (in reaction from T100 french riviera ??)
Bold move from the PTO to schedule an event down there over this busy time in the calendar where their competitor has such long standing experience and delivers year after year.
Hopefully they bring their A game and stand out in some way. Best of luck to them
EfA organisers will take the amateur entries so it doesn’t show on that T100 slide.
T100 the day before (31 May). Was reason for my ‘Note (3)’.

Canary Islands is the obvious answer there, I’d not actually looked at the dates though and realised the GF was going to be December.
Again, although im having a bit of a moan about it, I completely understood the financial decisions for Triathlon to be putting on races there, hopefully the sport can massively take off somehow and doesnt need to bother in the future though.
Thank you - can find on search with ease.
But what seems to be happening is that a comment (anyone’s) does not bring this thread up to (near) the top. Happens for all other threads.
You mean like golf, soccer, F1 racing, and just about all the big sports played world wide?? Small potatoes here really, that part of the world has decided they want to own sports. And now they do and nothing is going to stop them. PGA tried I suppose, but even Americas old pastime and powerful league could not withstand their take over…What are a bunch of spandex, speedo wearing, 4% body fat weaklings going to do???
We give them money for oil. They give us some of our money back for exposure for so we can play or enjoy games.
And we’re supposed to say… Screw you, keep all my money and I’ll give you more money in perpetuity for future business but you damn well better not send any back my way.
Pearsons bike at Abu dhabi, both individual and relay shows not much different to last season. Couldnt stay with the chase pack. Geens comment seems likely to be accurate.
Not strong enough to pull with others to make it back to a lone rider in front. He was with another historically ‘weak’ ITU biker in Sanchez and DeNigro who is not too far removed from juniors, so not much firepower in their group. Still, Morgan tried to skip a few turns when they were trying to work together at the start, then Sanchez did the same, then Panjer came back to them from the back (alone!).
This said, Morgan had one great short course bike at Karlovy Vary a couple of years ago. This course is less suited to short powerful bursts and more suited to an overall strong rider capable of putting high average power for a length of time. So maybe T100 is more suited to Morgan’s strengths on the bike than the crit style of most ITU courses?
