Probably not a good sign that there haven’t been any episodes for a couple of months and an even worse sign that nobody seems to have noticed!
I’d love this. Slowtwitch has something no one else in the endurance media world has - a long-standing, active forum. Why not take advantage of that and set the podcast apart from the rest? You could bring on a few at a time, like a bundle of folks who have been around for a long time, pros (past and present), coaches… give some volume to voices with great stories to share.
Love the appreciation for the longevity of ST but to be accurate the letsrun.com forum has been around and active for a very long time as well. So, it’s incorrect to say that no one else has a long-standing forum in the endurance media world.
Oh, we’re coming back.
It’s just some of us (OK, it’s me, I’m the problem) have been on vacation and otherwise am up at the mountain every weekend and holiday day (including today) for the small person’s racing program.
(OK, it’s me, I’m the problem)
Some nice symmetry on the forum today:
And yes, it IS exhausting, always rooting for the Anti-Hero
.
Please note that I am very well versed in Taylor Swift, as Ivy loves her music.
Ivy is also aware that she has a song called Ivy.
Please note that my triathlon travel budget is being reduced greatly by having to set aside pennies for a future Swift concert. So if you’re wondering why we’re not in person at a bunch of events…that’s why.
Does Ivy know there was a band named Operation Ivy?
Just to mix it up a little 😎
Yes.
Not as much of a fan.
That said, she’ll sit and sing all of Against Me!'s “Stop” and Hall & Oates “Rich Girl” so…maybe I’m doing OK at this?
That’s your call to make.
In 2035.
That said, she’ll sit and sing all of Against Me!'s “Stop” and Hall & Oates “Rich Girl” so…maybe I’m doing OK at this?
The fact that you play and she knows Against Me!/Laura Jane Grace, speaks volumes ðŸ³ï¸â€âš§ï¸
.
NO. Not because I know if it is/isn’t worth listening too, it’s because my life it too busy to find time for it to sit down & dedicate my ears to a block of time of discussion.
The latest pod was a great conversation with Jason West and is the best episode to date.
We appreciate your consistent level of downloads (and feedback, for that matter).
I have to confess … sometimes I’ll put on one podcast when I go to bed (earbuds in, sleep mask on) and while I sleep, Spotify will go to another podcast in the queue, which the algorithm pre-loads; sometimes it’s you guys, and I will sleep through it completely - or wake up in the middle, like I think I did with Jason’s, last night?)
BUT, I think I’ve been consistent with listening to them ALL while awake (just double-counted on your metrics)
How long does a podcast take to edit?
Rich Roll released his second interview with Toby Morse of NYC Hardcore band H2O on Monday, 2/26
Within it, RR says “your episode with Travis Barker dropped today”
Travis’s visit to One Life One Chance podcast came out on October 30 (Mischief Night), 2023; so … FOUR MONTHS AGO!!!
I’m sorry but that’s wayyyyyyy too fucking long
What I appreciated about the ST Podcast was its currency (current-ness?)
Just thought I’d mention that
Carry on
His interview with Olav took months to come out as well. I’m sure he banks some episodes.
Kristian and Gustav were on the same week as Kona and he said “I’m also interviewing your coach today…”
I waited months for that one to come out
I waited months for that one to come out
My only thought would be that since his podcast is on both audio AND video platforms, editting the video to get the “just right” camera angles & keep the conversation flowing seamlessly, would be a bigger challenge than just hitting “Record” on the audio, then chopping it up later
Interesting aside: My cousin owns a post-production shop in LA, and she cuts a lot of trailers for movies & series - especially Disney - so she sees everything months before we do. She also has NDAs up the ass, so she’s 1000% not spoiling anything to anyone
Are we (Slowtwitch) done with the pod? Have not gotten them pop up on my apple pod feed. Lots of action over the last few weeks to warrant a new epi.
I went on vacation, and Eric has been traveling.
Hoping we can get back in the habit. Doubt we’ll do weekly but I’d like for us to turn out 2 episodes a month.
Under promise and over deliver. Once per month seems like an appropriate target for public disclosure. Sorry, but with the erratic delivery schedule of the podcast, I just pay zero attention.
Scotty Kumer from Ten Junk Miles invited Clint Welsh and Jack Rosenfeld from Beer On The Run onto his podcast. Both of them, along with Road Dog Podcast by Luis Escobar, are on my weekly listen-to list - Slowtwitch Podcast is an immediate listen, when it comes up
Clint & Jack had recently declared - with little warning/advance warning - “we’re done; thank you”
This show is an exploration of the Birth, Life, and Death of a successful podcast - along with A LOT of extraneous shit; these folks can fucking ramble!!!

I think that there’s a great audience of athletes who swim/bike/run but do NOT take it so seriously (kinda like UltraRunners, who KNOW they’re kinda fucked up, but do it with a wink & a laugh), who aren’t being served by super technical/highly analytic podcasts that are being offered
