Megans channel popped up on my YouTube feed a few weeks ago and she is pretty entertaining. It is amazing who makes cameo appearances at random times in her videos.

It will be interesting to see if Learmonth, Duffy and Spivey swim with LCB and put a good deal of time into the field by T-1. I think the Duffy will have put in the work over the winter to make for a very interesting race with front swimming LCB as well as Ash G. and Julie D. working hard in an attempt to run her down.

Looks like TNT have taken over Eurosport, to watch this in UK, I think is going to be more expensive.

When was Max Stapley added? Anyway, another great addition as a wild card.

Tri247’s take on the women’s race (with timings and viewing options):

World Triathlon’s TriathlonLive broadcast all the 2024 races but I’m not sanguine they’ll do so in 2025.

Would have been an easy fix if on Triathlon Live, but its not showing up, the next race is showing up on that is Chengdu World cup.

Eagerly awaiting betting odds on this (can’t see any on Skybet yet, I have an account with almost all of them, so let me know if you see any) I reckon they’re going to slip on a few of the athletes I’ve got my eye on for podium, money to be made!

I’m interested in how they place Gentle, LCB, Duffy and Derron. I’m expecting a real slug fest from those 4 and will likely get up at 2:00am just to watch live.

Picks… impossible to make, so here

  1. Bergere
  2. Wilde
  3. Bogen

    1 Duffy
    2 Gentle
    3 Waugh

Men
1 Wilde
2 Van Riel
3 Geens

Women
1 LCB
2 Duffy
3 Derron

If there’s one where LCB isn’t going to nail it, I’d guess it’s this one, but I still wouldn’t ever bet against her whenever Knibb’s not around.

Men:
Wilde
Smith
Noodt

Mislawchuk for the biggest surprise in the top 5.

Women:
Gentle
Duffy
Deron

Waugh for biggest surprise in top 5.

The race day weather is looking pretty normal for Singapore i.e. hot, humid and a fair chance of showers and thundershowers. Competent bike handling in the wet may well be especially important for both the men and women.

Unhealthy conditions for endurance sports activity imho.
Leaves aside the water condition and temperature.
Would ‘they’ allow a marathon to be run /started in such a risky environment?
A significant challenge for athletes to pace themselves so the run doesn’t become a survival fest.
Last year we saw Gentle and Long handle this and race superbly. Derron will be prepared (ex China). I can’t see how MvR can do more than ‘get round’: take the long view of the season ahead.
Easy to see why Knibb gave it a swerve.
Road helmets.

Yeah, really interested to see how LCB’s run goes. Also looking forward to seeing how Duffy performs.

Derron
Duffy

Wilde
Geens
Bergere

With any luck this will be the nail in the coffin of insisting that everyone attend Singapore. What does it say about your race when athletes who are injured or can’t go for some other reason could be happy about it?

The specific location isn’t PTO’s requirement though is it? It’s the fact that it’s the season opener (which didn’t Miami have the same attempted “requirements” on short notice last year)?

So I would assume if it’s whatever location next year the same show up to 1st race of year is going to be part of said location. So if it’s this location next year, guess what they’ll make the same requirements. As the saying goes “that’s what the money is for”.
