Mixed feelings about this.
Of course it can be seen as good sportsmenship, I agree.
On the other hand, “navigating” belongs to the sport. I went once wrong (only for 200m) on the bike, and I lost some seconds a couple of weeks ago in a triathlon running, because I did not get what was the right alley.
Nightmare to me anyway, I dream sometimes about loosing my way in triathlons.
