Pics of the best old school TT positions?

Thought it would be fun to compile a thread comprised of pics from some “old school” TT positions, both in cycling and triathlon. I don’t know an exact definition of old school, so I suppose it is up to the individual to judge if a picture is indeed old school.

I’ll start. This is a cool pic I think. Juan Pelota would be proud.

I like Fernanda Keller’s position:

WOW, did she race like that? Hurts my butt just thinking about it.

Many of todays so-called aero experts have lost fact that this position produced a tt with 34mph average speed.

and many of todays Luddites forget that this position was on downhill, downwind course.

not that anything is particularly wrong with the position anyway. its just that your sarcasm makes no sense

Yes she did, that is Fernanda Keller. She swam in a suit like that as well. It was always a fight to see who got to swim behind her at masters when she was training in San Diego.

AAH! Do NOT under any circumstances do an image search for Fernanda Keller without some sort of filter activated. Apparently, some enterprising young man/woman shares the same name…

Careful…when you note that fact, make sure you also mention that the course was point to point and slightly downhill…otherwise folks might get the wrong idea about an “outlier” performance like that

She is actually a very nice and humble person, it is just the way Brazilains dress. No complaints here!

A flash back to 20 years ago on the bike.
December 1990

The aerobars above were some of the first clip on ones made under the Scott brand. Image is a bit blury and was taken from a car by a highschool mate at the time(1990). Not a bad image considering the speed was about 40km/hr. The lump on my back is a tubular tyre that was replaced during this race.

And above here is another image well known triathlete Scott Tinley from the same vintage.
