Which is better or worse for you? or is it personal taste haha
Thoughts?
Nutritionally I think they’re about the same, variety is good, eat both.
You forgot NUTELLA!!! my bedtime snack tonight was a tangerine with nutella, a bowl of cereal, a couple more spoonfulls of Nutella… hazelnut butter!
As long as you’re using plain peanut butter (peanuts & salt only) I can’t find a difference other than price and texture and the taste difference between almonds and peanuts… I normally add some crushed walnuts in with almond butter.
i personally didn’t like almond butter, but I am totally addicted to peanut butter so maybe it’s personal as you said. To me no better combination than peanut butter, nutella, and bananas wrapped in a crepe. I could eat that and a proscuitto and fresh mozzarella sandwich everyday of my life!
I have been on an almond butter kick for about two years now. I like almond butter better, more of an “earthy” taste and texture…I am not positive about nutritional comparisons, however almond butter is drastically more expensive!
Whats wrong with Bit O Mite?
Just joking.
From a nutritional standpoint, I think both are good (assuming just nuts and no additives) but almond butter would be considered healthier due mostly to the fact that almonds have about half the saturated fat content and about twice the fiber as peanuts.
don’t forget that almonds are nuts and peanuts are LEGUMES (goober peas). Legumes contain anti-nutrients inhibit vitamin absorption and can irritate your GI system.
Legumes contain anti-nutrients inhibit vitamin absorption
broccolli also has carcinogens
as do all plants
do legumes contain enough vitamin inhibiting things that anyone should really worry about them? can you give more detail?
as with just about all foods (whole foods) the more variety the better. it is much better to eat some of both than just one or the other.
Nothing like almond butter made from fresh almonds. Get it a Whole Foods and then the misses and I do body shots. Yum.
Peanut butter + honey + bread. Accept no substitutions. I could live off that, morning noon and night. Seriously.
Spice it up with a little nutmeg and cinnamon. Makes it taste like Christmas all year 'round!

salmonella sandwich is my favorite.
both!! every morning on my piece of toast i put half pB and half almond butter… i love them both equally and if they are both organic then they are both great for ya (as long as you are working out)
almond butter is way better for you, almonds are a nut unlike peanutes and one serving is half your daily vitamin E
.
Whatever you do, don’t try sunflower seed butter. Horrible! Ruined a perfectly good bowl of oatmeal.
what does “whole food” mean?
as with just about all foods (whole foods) the more variety the better. it is much better to eat some of both than just one or the other.
only problem with almonds is that they suck
there’s no comparision…peanut butter wins the taste contest hands down.
but if you want to one up peanut butter…CASHEW BUTTER. mmmmmmm.
you’ve got to eat what actually tastes good (or i should say i do).

Exactly wrong. Sunflower seed butter is outstanding. Much better flavor. And what the hell would you put it even near oatmeal for??
Phill Maffetone got me hooked on Almond butter years ago and gave me the whole speach about how it’s better than peanut butter; but I cant remember the details. so my vote goes for Almond butter. I think it tastes better too, but that’s personal.
