OT: Randy Moss

Anyone check out Randy Moss’s hair today in the Vikings game??!!??

What the HELL - I mean that just looked silly. Every time they showed him on TV I just kept thinking about some sort of cartoon character.

The guy should not wear a helmut - Culpeper could just throw the ball at his head and I know it would stick in there - never a dropped pass!

yeah… i saw it. i’m surprised it fit in the helmet.

did you happen to check out his end zone celebration? what a classy guy…

Im a amazed that he could get that in the helmet. Wow. Before he let it out he had some sort of weid ball thin on his head.

Latrell sprewell’s “pigtails” are almost as bad.

Must be something about pro-athletes in Minnesota. have some outrageous doos to balance out the clean cut temamates (Culpepper on Vikes and Garnett on the wolves)

the hair is not as funny as when he opens up his mouth. that was hillarious.

Terry Bradshaw is badmouthing him now!

what was it that he did in the touchdown that the networks wouldnt show, they say it was uncalled for???

i did not see it I was doing 4 or 5 things with the game on in the back ground and periodically checking this forum. I was curious so I looked it up on Google. He apparently mooned the fans. Here is a link to it:

http://groups-beta.google.com/group/alt.sports.football.pro.gb-packers/browse_thread/thread/d77532fd060e361e/d5394e6595672211#d5394e6595672211

it was a half assed moon sort of thing that he did.

He feined pulling his pants down and stuck his butt toward the Green Bay fans in the end zone.

I think lack of class is an absurd thing to accuse a football player of. We’re talking about a game where brute force is the sole virtue. I spent six years playing the game - long enough to know that “class” and “football” should never be used in the same sentence.

Randy Moss is a stupid child…

I love how people get their britches all in a knot about this kind of thing. Hey, if he actually did pull his pants down, I could see the point of getting all righteous and moral.

Too bad… it was an amazing athletic play the preceded that. (he beat Harris on a badly sprained ankle)

But hey, Fox has some “moral values” they have to stay true to. Give me a break.

I love it, and wish that I could grow an afro like that. Silky smooth

i have to admit i have always been a bit of a Moss fan. I mean athletically the guy is amazing. he has always been a bit off and shown a lack of judgement (goign back to college) but never soo terrible.

And I would agree the moon thing way just foolishness and stupidity in action. don’t mind the foolishness but the stupidity is going a bit far. That is not being prudish - I love dark, raunchy humor more than just about anyone - but with all the attention he has gotten lately and the purdish nature of the NFL at the moment - just stupid, pulls away from what the Vikings did on the field and will be an issue that the team does not need to deal with all this coming week.

but now with the hair - he is beginning to look crazy. did you see him in the fox side line interview after the game - I mean really the guy looked like a homeless person, had that deranged look in his eyes. Starting to remind me of Denis Rodman in his waning years of basketball - these guys have a mental sickness.

the troubeling part is that he IS doing things to hurt his team and teammates. that is over the line in my book, particularly playing a team sport.

but the hair man, my daughters (7 & 8) were cracking up every time they showed him on TV - great entertainment

Good post,

Although, I have to politely disagree with you when you say that Moss’s antics are “hurting the team”. I think it’s hard to argue with it’s athletic ability. Furthermore, I believe this negative media attention only helps the team.

That’s right… Helps the team.

I believe it was the Green Bay coach that stated (and i’m loosely quoting here) " The thing you have to worry about with a team like the Vikings receiving negative attention is the possibility of them closing the doors and taking an ‘us against the world’ mentality"

I think that was evident… Furthermore, the only people that know for sure are his teammates… And I think Burleson speaks for the majority of them when he says:

“It’s hard for him, because everybody gives him a lot of flak about certain things that he does, but really when it comes down to it that’s a guy that I know I would rather have than any other receiver in this league.”

good points, good points - give me new respect for Moss’s teammates - must be a very mature group of guys
.

All I can say is that it doesn’t look very “aero”!

Caleb,

I couldn’t disagree more. The game itself is one of brute force, but the people behind the game are just that…people. They can be jackasses like Moss, or classy like a Walter Payton. Football as a profession is no different than any other profession in the sense of the people behind the game. Every profession has classy people and jackasses.

Hack

I am a child of the 70’s back when afros were more than a hairstyle…he is giving the afro a bad name. I also think he is need of some counseling…it was a great catch however.

But hey, Fox has some “moral values” they have to stay true to. Give me a break.

I was drinking and almost sprayed my screen with that

If Moss’s act was so vulgar and obnoxious, why did Fox show it?

In another incident, why did Fox not cut away when Moss was responding to taunting from Green Bay fans with “look at the m-f-ing scoreboard. look at the m-f-ing scoreboard.” (they didn’t have audio for this but it was clear to me what he was saying)

gotta agree - i think the afro is cool, but Mr. Moss has let it go too far - his is just sloppy

you’re right. i’m wrong. you’re smart. i’m dumb.

stupid michael keaton kiddie movies…
