Having seen nothing else this year and realizing most good films come out later in the year, I’m going to go out on a limb and say DiCaprio is going to win an Oscar for that performance.
The best actor in the film might have been that little girl
Good movie though.
I liked it a lot. One of the failings of a lot of stories is the ending. That ending was fantastic.
Though the Oscar goes to Brandy.

I figured that’s what we were in for, something of that sort. The one thing I don’t like about Tarantino’s films is the cartoonish violence, but that’s me, I like realism.
So I liked the ending in concept, just not in detail. Still overall a very good movie.
Just saw it
Unfortunately for the French, the sub titles don’t do tarantinos language justice
Brandy was good but I think Pitt was fantastic.
The ending… The ending… Was perfect
Remember when - 25 or so, nearly 30 years ago, now - when we saw Brad Pitt in A River Runs Through It, and people commented “He could be another Robert Redford”
Doesn’t he look like him more & more now?
Enjoyed it immensely - including the soundtrack. DiCaprio is a great actor - as is Pitt.
Who is ‘Brandy’?
Who is ‘Brandy’?
She’s a fine girl
That’s all I know

OMG I was hearing Randy . . . gotta get my ears fixed.

Wasn’t me

100% agree with you on that one.
as we came out of the cinema, the group of four of us that saw it, were commenting that his performance was as good, if not better than any acting we had seen, at any time, in any movie.
Brad Pitt, Julia Butter, as the young actor were great, as was Margaret Qualley as Pussycat.
and Margot Robbie can just sit in the corner and I’d still be a happy camper.
Great movie about a time of transition in the industry, with just a hint of typical Tarantino violence thrown in.
Saw it last night. Absolutely loved it!
Agree with what everyone said.
Perfectly written and amazing build up.
I must’ve missed something. While I thought the acting was superb across the board, the movie was WAY too long and dragged on unnecessarily - even for Tarantino. Not an overall good movie and I cannot recommend a trip to the theater to see it.

+1. I was so prepared for the predictable, great ending!

Cliff’s (Pitt’s) dog. Funny, we’d just seen Halle Berry’s attack dogs in the 3rd John Wick movie not long before. Bad ass.

She also lives in a harbor town, and she works laying whiskey down…

The dog’s name was Brandy
Kurt Russell’s character was Randy
Better?
I can’t keep up

I’ve also heard that she would be a good wife…

Compared to what Fast and Furious 15? The majority of movies that are put out are just shit. Crappy stories, crappy scripts, crappy acting but teenagers and people who will watch anything eat them up apparently.
Now you might not like Tarantino or think there are some shortcomings in the movie but to say it’s not an overall good movie seems to me to pretty much damn 99% of movies as not good. There’s at least a quality to it that is sorely lacking in most films.
