Oklahoma public schools to teach the Big Lie in civics class

Who needs a department of Education when you have the Ministry of Truth.

Well, it could be an opportunity for them to hear them being debunked. But, JFC, this cult is too much. Maybe they can start the day requiring the students to spend 30 seconds each explaining why they are so lucky to have trump as president.

I’m eager to read the section on the January 6 assault on the Capitol.

I’m sure they will make it a school holiday to honor the patriots who protested so peacefully

Same crowd who are hell-bent on glossing over the real and documented history of slavery and racial segregation sure seem to have no problem embracing unfounded/disproven conspiracy theories.

Same crowd that threw rocks at children trying to go to school. (non white children in case anyone is not aware of our history of segregation in the US)

Oklahoma needs to be wiped off the map.

I’m sure we could re-work the pledge of allegiance.

“I pledge allegiance to the god of the United States of America
And to the Republicans, over which he stands
One nation, except the radical liberal lunatics, with tariffs and liberty for some”

Woah! That escalated to prime James Bond Villain pretty fast!

(Not disagreeing, just surprised you said that out loud as the first response)

Article on state policies and life expectancy. OK changed the most of any state towards conservative policies and CT changed the most toward liberal policies. In 1960, CT and OK had the same life expectancy. Today, CT is 5 years longer.

I would prefer to not be wiped off the map. I would be fine if our state superintendent, who is leading all of this non-sense, went away. It is a s*** show here with his antics. It’s hard to believe he got voted in.

I had the best time in OKC for the Women’s College World Series last summer. The people we met were so incredibly nice.

Even the people in Walmart that helped us get decked out in OU gear were so friendly and helpful. (Once Stanford lost we quickly switched teams

Of course not. That would be child’s play compared to what white Oklahomans do to folks with dark skin, especially those who are so uppity as to be successful…

I agree with this. Is there any explanation that makes sense of this?

OU is the worst. The experiences we had in the late 1980s as female athletic trainers traveling to Oklahoma. I could tell a story or 10.

Unfortunately the explanation is the same as to why Trump won every single county in the presidential election. Walters and our governor are at odds and Walters is also at odds with half of his board. It makes for lots of fireworks at the board meetings though.
