Yes, please. The correct word is “disirregardless”.
“There is NO way for him to prove he was always clean, only ways to prove he wasn’t.” I COMPLETELY agree. Here are some things he has done that I believe “prove he wasn’t.”:
In the interests of accuracy, he didn’t keep #1 particularly secret – see “Armstrong’s war” for example. He also didn’t fail any test in 1999, as the levels detected were way below the failure level… see any news coverage at the time.
i think you meant “unregardless”
.
I’ve been searching google…but I can’t seem to find any info about the press conference Lance held to announce he was NOT going to work with Don Catlin in an anti-doping program. Now if he held a press conference in Vegas, to a captive cycling audience, to announce his intentions of having the best and most visible anti-doping program, shouldn’t he hold a press conference to announce NONE of that is going to happen? You know a press conference where reporters can ask hard hitting questions like, “why”? Cost being the biggest laugher…He is worth over $100 million. There are unsubstantiated reports that he has actually tested positive for Matthew McConaugey’s DNA. Woo- I got a million of em!
I have mixed reaction to this news, but I don’t see it as a smoking gun. The logisitics of what Armstrong initially proposed struck me as cumbersome at a minimum. I do think there needs to be some individual initiative on the part of Armstrong to demonstrate his compliance, but no more so thatn any other athlete like Basso, etc.
So Lance posts hematocrits in the high 30s/low-to-mid 40s during the offseason, but managed to have readings in the high 40s in week 3 of the Tour de France? Draw your own conclusions.
Note: Hematocrit typically falls off during stage races. Hinault won a TdF with a finishing hematocrit of 37 (he started in the mid-40s).
