Re no one watching and shame: I watch and am enjoying the back and forth momentum shifts in the pinnacle play of a league final in all of its glory and gory. Fuck those that can’t find interest because their team is out. If they care not to be entertained, their loss.

I’ve been watching Florida vs the Leafs and now the Oilers and in both series, I’m cheering against Florida.
But, when they are on, they apply pressure in the offensive zone that no other team (with the possible exception of Edmonton) can do. I would often yell at the Leafs and Oilers, to “get the puck out of your end” regularly as Florida would apply pressure. I would watch and swear Florida is playing on the power play but it is at even strength.
I see the Oilers doing some of that too but when Florida does it, it is both frustrating and impressive.
The series has been outstanding so far, very exciting with both teams scoring in the dying seconds of a game and 3 of the 4 games going into overtime. The people not watching are missing out.

Florida’s offensive zone pressure is something to behold. It is incredible to watch.

I’m watching with the same observation and always I am quick to fault the their clearing attempts as half assed, hit and hope clears instead of feeling the pressure and knowing then where the holes are and going there to break out.
I hate Marchand with a passion that burns as hot as the fire of a thousand suns, but, it’s pretty cool to see older vets like him and Perry being so effective in this series.

Agreed. Same, can’t stand him. But holy crap he is good. That was some move on the second goal. His awareness and hands are amazing.
Give Florida credit. Defending champs and they go get an arch enemy and Seth Jones.
Just read a story about Marchand and his impending free agency. Roberto Luongo is big part of the front office, and by all accounts they are a top notch and professional organization. Seriously considering to stay.
That’s interesting for sure. I forgot about Luongo’s involvement in Florida. Those were some fun years when he was in Vancouver, even if Marchand spoiled our party in 2011 as well.
He may be old but he’s fucking clutch.
