This one has really gotten away from them.
That was a thorough ass kicking. The Oilers also completely unraveled mentally and allowed Florida to bait them all game.

If Florida runs the table on the Oilers and wins 4-1, the Leafs would have had as many 2025 playoff victories against the Panthers as the Lightning, Hurricanes, and Oilers combined.

Props to the Oilers for making this a series again. I pretty much wanted the NHL to just hand the Cup to Florida after the first period annihilation.
What a crazy game. The blown lead, the last second tie, both teams hit posts in OT. Kind of a garbage goal to win it, but I’ll take it.
When the Panthers start rolling and turn on the pressure, its frightening. They had the oilers on their heels quite a few times.
It’s a shame. Almost nobody is watching this series, ratings are abysmal. But it is wildly exciting and why this sport is so fun.
The Canadian ratings are 14% better than 2024 and interest will surge up here.
That is understood. Stanley Cup vs. Outdoor Rooster Chase, no brainer.
It’s almost like nobody cares about winter sports in the middle of June.
Similar to the NBA this year. The Finals ratings suck this year because nothing draws eyeballs like two teams from Oklahoma and Indiana. The series has been great but nobody cares because it’s not the Lakers, Celtics, Warriors, or Knicks playing.
I’ve seen more “news” about Taylor and Travis being there than the actual game… and I follow a lot of sports, specifically hockey, pages…
