I am curious will there be a new Canyon Speedmax release in 2026? Given a couple of spy shots circulating.
All the big hitters that are Canyon sponsored (Lionel, Kat etc) were over in Germany at a canyon HQ at the same time recently, so we can only assume a new one will be raced at Nice or Kona.
If there is, I’m surprised they don’t unveil it with Laidlow at Roth. They are a German company and he’ll probably smash the bike record there.
Yesterday there was a story from Cam Wurf where Jonas Schomburg rode a new bike. I think he deleted the story pretty fast. Forgot to take a screenshot before. Looked a bit more like the UCI bike in my opinion. But would make sense as with the BTA solutions a internal bladder is not needed anymore.
Being released on July 9…. looks nice. Hoping the front end is backwards compatible!
Looks like the secret is out now? Not sure of the look but the ride fit looks promising! Hopefully allow for 30+ tyre widths.
Official launch date is apparently this Thursday, GTN has a video that will be published hosted by Heather Fell. She was at the Canyon triathlon camp they hosted a month or two ago…guess that’s why. Canyon of course sponsors GTN.
These oversized fairing like cockpits look pretty ridiculous without the rider on it.
looks like details are available: Speedmax | CANYON US
a little disappointed that tire clearance is only 30mm (probably measured), but the OEM hydration system looks so much cleaner than some of the bodgy aftermarket products available for other bikes today
I love what Canyon has done with the new Speedmax the integration, design and improved fit system are outstanding. The only thing I can’t understand is why they’ve kept the tyre clearance at 28 mm. In this day and age, we should be seeing at least 32 mm capability. Wider tyres give better comfort, rolling efficiency and less fatigue over long-course racing. It’s an incredible bike, but this feels like a completely missed opportunity.
