Welch audible

Thanks for putting all of this in one place. It looks like it is past 6:40 am in Utah so I will go and get on the stream

Gotta love that LS & SL were given special swim cap colors! Nowhere to be seen …

Can we work on Dani’s audio setup for next time? Sounds like she’s doing commentary from down a long hallway.

Yes - I find it amazing that if Ironman have legends with excellent insight remotely reaching in, that the production team doesn’t ensure excellent audio. How difficult is that?

(if your location allows - can pause too)

as the tracker decided to only show top 20, FYI Lionel is out of the water 2.45 down (1 min behind Ditlev) and Sam Long 1 minute further down.
I’d say good swim for Lionel!

Man long a minute back to lionel. Lionel out with wurf and foley guess they can work their way up.

But Magnus once again shows what you can do if you actually commit to improving your swim, it will be hard to catch him!

Great swim for Lionel, put himself in a great position to move to the front. I think sam will also get there later, but will of course have to burn extra matches to do so. Magnus did what he could do, was lead group but with two off the front solo.

Same in womens, two solo off front and then lead pack

A lot of firepower in the chase…Lionel, Foley, Wurf…gonna be hard for Sam to come back on his own.
At the front we’ll see who’ll dare sticking with Magnus. Justin Riele perhaps?

He will definitely go with Ditlev.

Great swim for Lionel!!!

Curious to see if Birthwhistle will as well, and Seth Rider when he gets caught (amazed by his swim!)

In the women Vitoria Lopes then Wilms 22 seconds back, and further one minute down Paula and Chelsea.
I think Paula can just get away from Chelsea, and then she might struggle shaking Lotte Wilms off when she catches her…
Also, probably disappointing for Jackie Hering not being with Paula after the swim, considering she’ll probably lose quite some time on the bike…

That is some serious firepower!

Either that or Magnus just has a genetically higher swim ceiling due to body type or other factors. If you put Magnus, Lionel, and Sam on the exact same swim program for a year I’d bet Magnus would still be the best of the three.

Insane start by Lionel, he already gained 30 seconds on Ditlev!
He’s basically already at the back of that pack…he’s dropped everyone but jackson laundry from his group. Madness.

When I watch all 3 of them swim, my swimmers eye tells me that Magnus has that “feel” for the water, while the other two have more of a fight. SO yes all things equal he will be on top, but of course it is more than just that often times.

and Sam Long the only one roughly on Lionel’s pace, he’s halved the deficit from the likes of Foley and Wurf. Perhaps if he catches can take a breather before going for the hunt of Lionel.
