I cant for the life of me understand why this thread has exploded like this.

The thread blowing lasted long enough, apparently.

Geez guys. @rrheisler can we clean this up? It was actually a useful thread until this became a pun fest.

Sinner’s case was a farce. Sinner’s doctor admitted to have bought a cream that contains the banned substance and to have given it to the physiotherapist. He also says he warned him about its risks. That in itself is very dodgy, to say the least. But what is inconceivable is that a bank receipt is admitted as proof of the cream being purchased. Look at your bank receipts, all you have is the name of the merchant (a pharmacy in this case), the date of the purchase and the amount. There is zero information about what was actually bought at that merchant. In a nutshell, the tennis federation, and then the WADA accept your word as proof of a certain purchase, provider you are part of the #1’s team…

and that’s why he fired them. The % found was 0.0000001% or thereabouts and fitting with the explanation.
What a silly comparison.

So if you want to microdope, all you need is to have a second method of exposure to it, that can take the blame and be labelled accidental. Like a druggo boyfriend, electrolyte tabs from a known dodgy batch or a drug-laced topical cream.
Clearly this isn’t a viable excuse.

General comment to the thread, about measured levels being ‘too small to be useful’… People do all sorts for marginal gains or even just a placebo effect. And the attempt to dope is as bad as the outcome. What’s key is that dopers will only open the door for the drug testers if they are confident they’ll test clean. What turns up is residual amounts above what the athlete expected for the number of days since dosing. This why it’s always a ‘drop in an olympic pool’ amount.

And that is why he just announced he is hiring him back Jannik Sinner reappoints fitness coach Umberto Ferrara - BBC Sport

Contador was sanctioned for two years for less. So the percentage is irrelevant. And as I proved to you, a bank statement was accepted as a proof of purchase, which it can’t.

But you can keep believing in Santa if you want…

very true there is actually a lot to learn about the process from a failed test till the final verdict.
and I will say the process takes too long

Ya, it’s insane that in a sport of marginal gains, obsession over 0.5w aerodynamic tweaks, etc some people would say it’s not significantly enough of an amount to do anything.

Here’s a breakdown of the observed or claimed benefits associated with Ligandrol use:

Increased muscle mass: Studies have shown Ligandrol’s ability to increase lean body mass, with a phase 1 clinical trial demonstrating a dose-dependent improvement in lean mass in healthy young men over a short treatment period. This muscle-building effect is a key reason for its popularity among athletes and bodybuilders seeking muscle hypertrophy.

Enhanced muscle strength: Ligandrol is believed to improve muscle strength, with a 2013 clinical trial reporting dose-dependent improvements in muscle strength in healthy young men.

Improved athletic performance: Ligandrol is believed to have the potential to enhance athletic performance, potentially through increased muscle mass and strength.

Reduced fat mass: Some users report enhanced fat loss when using Ligandrol, possibly due to an increased metabolic rate. However, more research is needed to fully understand this effect and its efficacy in healthy individuals.

Enhanced bone density: Preclinical studies suggest that Ligandrol may have anabolic effects on both cortical and trabecular bone, potentially leading to increased bone density and strength. These findings suggest potential benefits for conditions like osteoporosis, but further research and clinical trials are needed.

Is anyone really going to say, a marginal benefit over time in all of those areas is not beneficial?!? And that it’s just for good looks in the gym?!

can I point out a little issue with your study ?
its young men not females …

Damn, forgot women are from Venus and our muscles and bones are totally different! Probably ought to ban chocolate cake for female athletes in that case.

Don’t worry, everything will come to a head soon.

Insider information?

Why the fuck would you use the word female as a noun. Women works fine. Especially when you used ‘men’ in the same sentence.

Yup: I note “short treatment period” is 21+ days. And “muscle hypertrophy” - is this what a female triathlete seeks short term (NB T100 GF 3 weeks before). Finally your “marginal benefit over time” - yes; “over time” (the window’s just not there).
Is it “just for good looks in the gym?!” - yes - this is the consumer target. Plus weightlifters and fighters. Look at Harris (the last one playing the bodily fluids card successfully). Do you genuinely think a female curler is going to use a SARM?
I note the negative test result on 2nd December, 11 days before the 70.3 WC.
‘On the balance of probability’ . . . .

It seems just a likely the previous negative test result is because of taking small particle in a swimming pool sized doses and the timing of the dose and the test worked to her advantage as it presumable does 98 out of 100 times.

The fear all of us fans have from the sidelines is this game is now played on a micro dosing level so small that the evidence wears off before they are tested. My assumption is there are even some protocols where you can test an athlete every other day of the year and they could design a routine to never get caught. Whether that’s true or not, the substance is banned, and there is reasonable probability that if someone did want to cheat with it, the best way to do so would be small amounts over time and then to have a backup excuse if caught.

So on the balance of that probability…!
