Imogen Simmonds Provisionally Suspended for Anti-Doping Rule Violation

Yes, as a former English Major, I’d take points off for that

It’s either “male/female” or “young men/young women”

It’s as awkward as “felines & dogs” (although “cats & canines” benefits from alliteration, so you could let that one go)

From my reading on this, Ligandrol (and any SARM) requires a significant dose to have any effect and microdosing (as you describe) would have zero/pico benefit.

You truly are working overtime. Kudos, man. I hope we get a verdict soon so you can finally rest.

That’s a tough defense since people are absolutely willing to consume and experiment with things that have no proven performance added value. Here are a few examples that come to mind:

  • Shake Weight
  • PR performance gel/bicarb gels
  • Blue Light glasses for sleep improvement
  • Ice baths
  • Mushroom Coffee

Options:

1: It has a measurable effect over time that allows them to train more, recover from training more, and thus train harder and more consistently and improve their performance. If it’s an extra 0.5% added to their workout instead of the extra 3% they’d get from larger doses, it’s still an impact that will make a difference over time between an injury or not, etc.

  1. It doesn’t have any different effect than a placebo and the athlete is stupid for doing it, but they believe it works and so they keep taking what they think is a worthwhile risk considering the difficulty in detection, etc.

It wouldn’t surprise me that athletes do stupid things. That doesn’t mean they don’t do them if in reality it does nothing. There are many cases of that.

Considering, I personally view both option 1 and 2 as stupid and the piper always gets paid in the end and there will be inevitable costs the athlete will pay as a result of their deception, not to mention the health consequences, and so on.

She was very impressive on the bike last year, T100 London fastest bike split and the pass on LCB was a stand out moment in that race.

Kat Matthews interview after Taupo said she could barely hang onto IS and there was no way she would have been able to take a pull. 2nd Fastest bike split after Knibb. Maybe she is that good.

My comment was in no way related to the drugs investigation. I think it is definitely a case of we both speak english but speak completely different languages.

Looks like a verdict of “no guilt or negligence” has been issued as per her IG.
