With the ring thing and the many responses of “I wore mine for “X” years”, I noticed alot of “10yr” responses. Alot of people I know seem to have been divorced disproportionately around the 10 year mark.
Just curious.

Almost 10 years to the day. Although I should never have stayed as long as I did. Let’s just say that my ex-husband had a propensity for married blondes over the course of our marriage.
1.5 whopping years…my 1st, her 2nd. Turns out she started cheating at about the same time in BOTH marriages and both ended around the same time. While I’m not perfect, I tried. Speaking of rings, on the plus side, I got the rings back…yes, racing gear upgrade time. While carbon fiber doesn’t erase/replace, I look forward to new speed…
Not yet. ![]()
15 years and 8 days. It doesn’t seem to be a day over 25! HAHAHAHAHAHA-that’s my little joke. My wife thinks it’s funny too.

13 years then 9 years. 2nd was primarily for my daughter. Would have dropped that one many moons earlier if not for my kiddo. Funny thing is, in the end, it wasn’t my choice.
About 10 years for me.
No divorce for me…21 Years in 7 days, baby!! Me and the missus got married in college, and been going strong ever since. And for the record, I am fairly spotty (no pun intended) on the wearing of the ring. I’m also on ring #3…lost the first one when I had to turn in a torn flightsuit to get a new one, and my wedding ring and college class ring were in a pocket (wearing rings on military aircraft is bad, bad, bad…fairly easy to “deglove” a finger if it catches on something, but I digress), and then, I swear, the dog ate my ring. Rented a damn metal detector and hovered over every pile in the back yard, but she probably pooped it out on a walk. Ah well, shit happens (pun intended!)

14 1/2 long years to a drunk that didn’t start out that drunk but ended up smashed to oblivion and still 2yrs post divorce hasn’t slowed down. What was I thinking. I did get a beautiful 6 yr old daughter out of it, oh and post traumatic drunk syndrome. ha ha
Eighteen years so far. When am I eligible for parole?
Almost 19 here. We dated 4…so we just passed the “been together longer with than without” milestone.
I was married for 8 years total. My ex “got weird” around 5 years, and I kept trying to work on the marriage. I still count it as 8.

I feel you. My divorce was final 8 months after my 10th anniversary. My ex-wife had a penchant for other married men, too.
Many may not understand, but I do believe as a result of my failed marriage, I am a much stronger, more centered, more self confident, and just in general a better person than I was before I married. In some ways, I have him to thank for that.
We were married 13 years, separated the last two years of those 13. We should have divorced around the 9-10 year mark.
My only advise to anyone “seriously” struggling through their marriage is to get a divorce as soon as possible. If you “know” it’s not going to work, then don’t spend years trying to “work it out”, fixing the other person, changing yourself to make the other person happy, etc. It doesn’t work and it makes you lose years of your life. Get a divorce and move on.
Hey, I’m on ring #3 as well. Wife lost first one holding it for me during a triathlon. I lost the second one who knows where (I think at the pool). So I recently bought a titanium ring. Very cool, very inexpensive (in case I lose this one as well). Although I do have our names engraved so maybe it’ll find its way back if its ever lost.
We just had our 13 year anniversary but dated for about 3 years before marriage. So far so good.
7.5 years and counting.
Nearly 25 years here. Add nearly two years before hand for dating puts me over the more time with than without mark as well.
26 years in September and still on the same ring, which I have not removed once since I got married. My ring finger is deformed.
Mrs. Last Tri got a new ring for our 25th, her first since we got married. It was hard to replace the original as I was very poor when I bought her than little stone. Kind of sentimental about it.
First 10 years had ups and downs but after that you just get more accepting and compromise more. Seems to take a lot longer than 10 years just to have enough situations where you see a person’s true colors. She is my bestest best bud.
It will be eleven years for us on June 23, and the marriage is still going strong.
I always have to take my ring off when I exercise because my fingers poof up when I sweat to the point I painfully lose circulation in my ring finger if I leave them on.
