Interested in a hooked disc wheel which I could run at least at 80psi with a 28mm tire.
Given the recall turmoil at DT Swiss/Swiss Side, somewhat reluctant to go with them. HED Vanquish surprisingly limit the pressure at 70psi.
What are other quality options? Thank you.
Yeah, that quick release skewer recall is definitely going to limit someone’s disc wheel choice. Ditto those aluminum rim brake wheels from a decade and 15 years ago.
Point being that flew right over your head that companies have product recalls… And if u want to be a dick the DT swiss/Swiss side disc weren’t part of the recall…
I had same basically same requirements and was essentially the only one that ticked the box without needing to sell my liver (kidneys went for the bike)
Unless there’s an error on HED’s website (or I’m misreading) in which case it cost them a possible sale. (actually, no 75/80 still too low for what I was wanting to buy), 90 for 28 would have been ok, not that I wanted to run at 90, but that was my criteria to buy.
You really need to clear this up
My understanding is that while Cadex tests up to 115 PSI, they still say you must ride at 72 PSI max.
If you are telling people they can ride over the max Cadex says they can ride, isn’t that a problem for you ?
And BTW, there is no data publicly available for Cadex tires more recent than 2022 which has absolute crap RR. I know they have new tires, but there is no info on them. Personally I would not buy a wheel that restricts the tires I can use with it in an optimal configuration.
Are we talking about the Caden wheels or Cadex wheels??
But for someone so interested in pushing hookless, safety and all that shit now saying you can ride a Cadex hookless wheelset with Cadex tires at 115 psi is mindboggling to me. And sure it was not meant to be pink.
But an uknown reader might stuble upon this post and just do what you say is safe…very weird.
