Hoka have just confirmed that the Bondi 4 will be available in 2E sizing from October. Huge news for me and judging by the amount of people that think they are too narrow on here, should be good for them too!
A little late, I’d say. That’s okay, though – I’m very happy with my Altras.
forget double wide…how about just normal wide? I wish Altra and Hoka merged and just made one awesome racing/training shoe.
my assumption is that Hoka double wide will be normal wide
.
They did. It’s called the Saucony Zealot.

no wide or high volume
Yeah, but I have a wide, high volume foot and they fit great. More too than the Altra on the sides of my foot (I find Altras narrow along the sides…toe box is nice, though). 4 mm drop, so a little but not too much. Plenty of cushioning but a nice firm ride.
i’ll look but I’ve got a duck-with and a high instep.
New Balance makes enough models so I’ve got choices but i really like the ultra cushion idea.
Obviously our feet might be different, but I was really surprised with the Zealot. I have wide feet, a high instep, and a narrow heel. Even Altras don’t fit me well, and my heel slips a ton in them.
I did have to size up with the Zealot, to a 9 from my usual 8. But it fits me really well.
Count me in as another to say that this is about two years late in coming! I had to switch to Altra Olympus the past year due to the narrowing of Hokas toe box. Just recently went up two full sizes in the Hoka Challenger ATR and it works great for me, but I will definitely check the Bondi 4 in the wide size when it’s available.

Hallelujah! I have very wide feet and I have to 1/2 size up the Hokas to account for it. I’m really a 11.5 2E but I can’t get my feet into a 11.5 Hoka, so I go with 12. An 11.5 2E would be a way better option for me.
Constants come in a wide model.
Blah, until they bring the Clifton in so called wide (aka normal width) I’m heading over to Altra’s or Skora’s.
The cliftons are actually the one Hoka that fits my wide foot. The tow box in the 2s is smaller though and giving me problems
Huh?
Are you saying the Clifton fit better than the others in the toe box in the same size or had to size up? Totally contradictory to the historical volume of Bondi>Conquest>Clifton. I also tried on a pair of the Altra’s Torin’s before I bought the Conquest cheap on eBay as I was afraid of going 0 drop as I was coming from 12mm drop. Should have went the Altra’s as my calf’s have never been better with the Conquest 4mm drop.
Don’t think I went up more than a half size up. Can’t speak to the sizing historically over the entire line. Just know that I tried on every other hoka and they were too narrow, but the Clifton 1 fit great. Could just be the poor QC issue and I got the one extra wide pair that was ever made. Might have to try out these other options next time since I’m not happy w/ the 2s
10.5 4E fat footed bastard here. Any time shoe makers understand that there is a market for wide feet, it’s good news, but like others said, this is 2 years too late. I wanted to get on the Hoka bandwagon, but their refusal to offer a wide shoe was a deal breaker. I was a big Asics Nimbus fan for a while, but now I am stocked up with Saucony Triumph ISOs.
Thanks Hoka. I may try your wide version on in 2016, but I’m pretty happy where I am today.

“Fit wide” is not the same as sized wide. The Constraint simply runs wide. It is not offered in a true 2E or 4E size. This is the plight of people with wide feet. People will say “Oh, they run wide. You will be fine.” Wrong. Shoving a 4E foot in a shoe with a last that is simply a wide D width is like trying to park an 18 Wheeler in a residential one car garage.
