GOP good time camp 'N****erhead'

Yes boys and girls, nothing to look at here except Rick Perry’s family hunting and fishing camping retreat that is called ‘N****erhead’.

I’m going to be sad when this guy drops out, but so happy when Christie (isn’t that a girls name) joins the race.

He’s a Republican. How does this hurt him? Is he going to lose his black constituency?

How did it come to be named that?

Actually, knowing that most republicans are rednecks and hillbillies, this will probably increase his voting block because the Obama presidency is not about the fact that he is “black”.

How did it come to be named that?

Way back when it was named, it was not a racial epithet for Texan whites. It was a term of endearment. It had something to do with cotton and plantations and 3/4 something or other.

Did you even read the whole story?

Did you even read the whole story?

'Course he didn’t. He’s Mr. YaHey, after all. Seems that as soon as Perry’s dad leased the place in '83 or thereabouts he had the rock painted over, and that it had remained painted over and that Perry *fils *never, ever saw the rock with that epithet on it. This is the Obama-supporting mainstream media literally looking under rocks in Texas in a desperate attempt to smear the 'Pub candidates that they know are going to stomp Obama into the dust, come November 2012.

Did you read the story? Recent visitors state that the rock is no longer covered and you can see the words clearly.

And no one can collaborte the 1983 story, which is backpeddling by Perry’s team.

I wonder if they turn on their “negro dialect” when they go to that place?

Actually, knowing that most republicans are rednecks and hillbillies, this will probably increase his voting block because the Obama presidency is not about the fact that he is “black”.

Hey, bub. I’m a brownneck, though my great-grandma on my mom’s side was named Daisy Belle Miller, from Clarksville, Tennessee, which I guess makes me a Southerner and a hillbilly in some weird way.

You know, don’tcha, that the “RaceCard” is maxed out, right? November 2008 put a stop to all that nonsense, in the opinion of most people.

The story sounded bad at first blush, but as facts emerged it shows that Perry had nothing to do with it at all. His dad painting over the offensive name shortly after leasing the land is as close as the Perry family appears to be connected. This is probably an attempt to soil the TEA party again with the "racist" label. This is truly an ugly, ugly, campaign, and I expect it will get much worse if it continues to look like Obama will lose.

ps Yahey usually has the nutty left take on things, but at least starts with facts that the rest of us do. This is a departure, maybe just indicative of what the hard left is willing to do, but sad.

Ann Althouse, a law prof up there in Madison – the former socialist/libbie utopia of Wisconsin – synopsized this whole thing best:

“Lots of photos of Perry having nothing whatsoever to do with this story, and not a single one of the rock. Well done, WP!”

Reading on, we see that — according to Perry — Perry’s father leased the property in 1983, and the first thing he did was paint over the word on the rock. And every time Perry saw the rock, it was painted over. But WaPo found 7 individuals who say they remember seeing the name on the rock during the time when Perry’s father’s name was on the lease. And:

Longtime hunters, cowboys and ranchers said this particular place was known by that name as long as they could remember, and still is.

“The cowboys, when they were gathering cattle, they’d say they’re going to the Matthews or Niggerhead or the Nail” pastures, said Bill Reed, a distributor for Coors beer in nearby Abilene who used to lease a hunting parcel adjacent to the Perrys’. “Those were all names. Nobody thought anything about it.”…

“You know, Texas is a little different — you go where it’s comfortable,” Reed said. “. . . It would have been one thing if had named it, but they didn’t. So, it’s basically a figure of speech as far as most people are concerned. No one thought anything about it.” ***No one thought anything about it. Those who are looking for a racial issue to play know how to jump on a phrase like that. Okay, then, let him who is without sin cast the first rock. ***

I read the story before it even hit the WaPo. That sort of thing is kind of my “job” these days. Refer to my follow-up post in re Ann Althouse and her analysis of the whole Washington Post smear attempt.

Yeah, that really isn’t worth reporting about. I’m a lot more concerned with something like this:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2044279/Rick-Perry-says-U-S-send-military-kill-Mexican-drug-cartels-brutality-rises.html

I’m against it also. I would use the CIA or covert ops.

I’m strongly against it. And yes, living in El Paso has a lot to do with it. Thus far, things have stayed on the other side of the border.
The border patrol, DEA, customs etc. have their hands full already. Send the army and the Juarez cartels will start retaliating on the
other side of the border (and probably the same thing will happen in Tijuana/SD, and all along the border). Covert ops, CIA for sure.

Your job is to use propaganda against the truth.

Your ignorance astounds me…

Billabong Republican, Mexican, Surfer, Recovering Punk from Orange County CA no hillbillie or redneck here

You’re also a wannabe Aussie
.

Is anyone surprised that YaHey latches on to some anti-Repub article, ignores the parts that don’t suit his agenda of hate and makes excuses for it?

Honestly, people like YaHey worry me more then any redneck, Democrat, Republican, Communist, Gang member, Drug cartel, etc.
