GOP good time camp 'N****erhead'

Your job is to use propaganda against the truth.

So this is, like, propaganda?:

No, Rick Perry’s not a racist say … Texas Democrats
Worth posting for two reasons. One: It contains one of the most surreal quotes you’ll ever read in a political story. Two: It helps answer a question I’ve had since WaPo’s story broke on Saturday night. Namely, how’d Perry manage 10 years as governor of Texas without the story about his family’s hunting camp coming out?

The apparent answer: Few people back home seriously believe he’s a racist, including the opposition, so maybe no one thought it mattered.

Even some of Perry’s fiercest Texas critics say they do not believe he is racist. They point to his record of appointments as evidence: He appointed the state’s first African-American state supreme court justice, Wallace Jefferson, and later made him chief justice. (Jefferson’s great grandfather was a slave, “sold like a horse,” Perry once said with disgust.) Perry’s former general counsel and former chief of staff, Brian Newby, is black; so is Albert Hawkins, the former Health and Human Services Commissioner who Perry handpicked to lead the massive agency in 2002.

“He doesn’t have a racist bone in his body,” said former Democratic state Rep. Ron Wilson, who is black and served with Perry in his early years in the Legislature. “He didn’t then, and he doesn’t now.”

Added Dallas Democratic Sen. Royce West, who is also black: “I don’t agree with him on policy issues, but you can point to many things he has done that were sensitive to ethnic minorities.”…

“He appointed a black man chief justice of the state Supreme Court, for crying out loud, one of the many high-profile positions he’s given to minorities during his time as governor,” Jason Stanford, a Democratic opposition researcher and author of an upcoming book on Perry, wrote in a weekend blog post. “… If he were an n-bomb dropping cracker, we’d all know.”

If you care to know anything about the truth you so blithely refer to as propaganda, follow the link and read up some more. I doubt you’ll do it, but it’s there nonetheless:

Yah, this story has no legs. At all.

“I saw “Niggerhead” painted on a rock 20 years ago! And Rick Perry went by that rock a few times! Racist!”

Rick Perry’s campaign manager should be thankful that this idiocy is distracting from things about him that are actually crazy and scary.

Actually, knowing that most republicans are rednecks and hillbillies, this will probably increase his voting block because the Obama presidency is not about the fact that he is “black”.

Dude, you really, I mean really, need to learn a bit more and stop parroting what some liberal wonk is telling you to think and say. While I am not giving the Republicans a pass, look at the fact that it was a Republican (Lincoln), who freed the slaves, not a Democrat. In the 1960’s when civil rights were being debated, it was primarily Democrats who resisted the Civil Rights Act of 1964:

"The bill came before the full Senate for debate on March 30, 1964 and the “Southern Bloc” of 18 southern Democratic Senators and one Republican Senator led by Richard Russell (D-GA) launched a filibuster to prevent its passage. Said Russell: “We will resist to the bitter end any measure or any movement which would have a tendency to bring about social equality and intermingling and amalgamation of the races in our (Southern) states” Source: Wikipedia and confirmed through other sources.

Today it is not hard to see welfare and other social handouts vigorously defended and being increased by the Democratic Pary as a form of slavery, with 3,4 and 5 generations being relegated to projects and subsidized housing in many cities. The price for being “kept” is to vote lockstep with the Democrats. The other price is perpetual poverty, not financial per se but poverty of the spirit. I have interviewed some of the families where there is no living people who have lived anywhere except projects. The stories I heard there were chilling, so evil as to make a person like me want to start a new civil war to free those people, only they do not realize just how enslaved they are.

Understand, I am not automatically against every Democrat espoused policy, and have voted for Democrats when they were the best choice. Your canned rants do a disservice to the party you supposedly support, and do not contribute to the debate. Insults and slurs only serve to muddy the water in an attempt to hide the weaknesses in your own argument. Its not working anymore, so please learn a bit about what you are trying to debate and stop acting like some kid on a playground screaming phrases some other kid told you to say.

Well said. Seriously. I’ve tried to say the same thing several times but it never came across quite as well.

Believe it or not, but I’m not all that big a Perry fan, though the 'Pub “base” folks that I’ve met with are pretty evenly divided between him and Herman Cain (who’s coming on strong) at this point. However, I think what I’m seeing out there on the hustings is that most 'Pubs are going to go with whomever they think has the best chance of beating Barack Obama, even if that’s Mitt Romney, that’s how high the level of emotion is about our current president. IOW, I wouldn’t count on the Republicans shooting themselves in the foot in 2012 and nominating somebody who’d be unpalatable to independents and the once-named “Reagan Democrats.” This is why NJ governor Chris Christie (who’s less conservative than John McCain, who himself is actually pretty conservative) has a real shot at stealing in and stealing away with the 2012 nomination.

Well said. I don’t understand why so many of the people spending generations in the projects don’t see it for what it is. I guess they don’t think of it as slavery because they don’t have to work for it. Just show up at the poles every few years.

You hear democrats say that they’re against poverty, yet much of what the democrats do keeps so many people in poverty because they give them no incentive to get out of the projects. Instead of curing poverty, they’re propagating it.

This is post is hilarious.

You realize that the Republican of Lincoln’s time were really the democrats of today? In fact, the republican party of then is nothing like the party of today.

If you knew the history of the the Southern democrat bloc, then you would know that they all left the democratic party and formed the republican party in the southern States. This is the history of Pres. George Bush

Yahey, you are one of a kind. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again - you are a world-class troll…or, idiot. But, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and go with ‘troll’.

Cheers on another great post that highlights your…skills?

I didn’t read the whole thread, but I assume because this is the lavender room we’ve all done the reasonable thing and agreed this is more a weird historical quirk rather than a sign of latent racism yes? good. So let’s enjoy the daily show’s take on racist place names: http://t.co/VQKkarbn
