Football (the real game, not the NFL thing :-)

Oh man, the story gets even better! Thanks, that was fun

Come on You Spurs!!

In the Champion’s League and almost relegated!

Spurs had Man U’s number all season long, winning all of their meetings. And winning again with stakes on the line.

Good for Spurs! Frustration for Man U continues.

Glory Glory …!!!

When will Arsenal end their trophy drought?

Well damnit!

Congrats to the spurs on the hardware. Now time to hope that Inter takes it to PSG and sends them home.

My best friend and teammate from college is going to the final with the stateside CEO for the World Cup next year. He was also offered the COO position for next year but had to turn it down. He’s kicking himself and was not an easy decision to make.

But he’ll be at the CL final and WC final most likely…I’m not feeling too bad for him.

So I was given tickets to the San Diego FC match last week. This was the first real soccer “football” match I’d ever seen. I know, it’s the MLS and not the Champion’s League, but it was pretty cool to see live and there was more action than I had anticipated and you could actually see some of the strategies taking place.

Sports are always better live than on TV, I’d go back again if I get a chance before I leave San Diego.

That’s great, thanks for posting about your first live football game. Glad you enjoyed it!

You’re right, MLS is below the higher levels but I really enjoy watching them play. You saw that level of play in person. They’re good.

My daughter’s coworker has season tickets and he couldn’t go, so he gave it to me. One thing that drives me nuts watching though, people complain about basketball players flopping, they have nothing on football players. Guys laying on the field, the trainers go out, they continue rolling around, get helped up, leave the game for 30 seconds and then sprint back on the field. Happened 3 times in the match.

That’s because soccer trainers have miracle sprays and magic sponges. They work wonders. :slightly_smiling_face:

Saw a quote that said the EPL is so good that even a lowly team can be European champions.

(Similar analogy to college basketball, where the NIT winner says they’re national champs)

If an EPL suffers any real injuries, it feels like the league is too good to allow you to get results if you focus on Europe. So not sure if the standings are really reflective. If not top 6 then avoid relegation if you are still alive in Europe.

Congratulations Liverpool!

Loved them giving Crystal Palace their own Honor Guard.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was in tears after the final whistle. Hope he pulls his head out of his ass and changes his mind on leaving. It that I’m holding my breath.

Switching gears, the USMNT is going to be without a huge number of starters for the Gold Cup. This could be costly for Pochettino.

Yeah, the Honor Guard was very cool.

It was touching seeing A-A fighting back the tears. It must be hard after being with them his whole life. I’m guessing that the club didn’t have the money after signing Salah and VD to pay him what Real Madrid can offer.

Yes, congrats to the Reds and fans.

Some dumbass then plows a car into their parade.

Yeah, I was shocked to hear that. Apparently, he was high on drugs. They charged him with attempted murder and DUI. I hope he rots in jail for a very long time.

It’s almost hard to believe there were no fatalities, very glad for that.

Paris is off to a hot start.

They are handling Inter. PSG is down their throats.
