As a US resident i haven’t been to an EPL game since 2018 when my son and i were visiting. He is a Chelsea fan and i am a Leeds fan (who is still a bit bitter about the 1970 cup final replay v Chelsea). We would have gone to any game we could while we were there - but the ones we could get tickets for were Spurs v Huddersfield (at Wembley), and West Ham v Burnley (at the Olympic Stadium). Basically teams playing in large stadiums against relatively unpopular opposition. Both days were memorable - the West Ham game was the one where a fan ran on the pitch objecting to the owners - and got tackled by Mark Noble). i did become a member at West Ham - but in the end the tickets went on general sale, so i didn’t need to. i have had a little bit of affection for them since though. i do remember the tickets being relatively inexpensive compared to US events - we paid 20 pounds each for spurs, and less than that total for west ham (the sold young adult tickets at half price). You could also consider seeing a Championship game - most will be loud with a lot of atmosphere. i went to see Barnsley play Sheff Wed (League 1 top of the table clash at the time) at Oakwell last year - with some Barnsley fans - and it was just as much fun as the EPL games.
Finally - if you haven’t planned on doing this already - you can tour Stamford Bridge. My son and i did that and even as a Leeds fan i really enjoyed it.
Spurs are so good when they are on. Maybe next year will be the year.
The Football Gods have spoken.
Ever since Rodri was gifted the Ballon d’or City have lost five straight times including two to Spurs.
Impressive 9-1-1 record and top of the table. And they play Southhampton today who are in last place with a 1-1-9 record. The symmetry is almost too perfect.
But no wins are guaranteed.
Liverpool moves to 10-1-1, and Southampton to 1-1-10.
To my eyes, the Southampton pk was clearly outside the box.
Also, looks like Mo Salah’s been spending time in the gym. He’s ripped! Maybe it has to do w/negotiating a new contract.
Pleased with you performance so far. Been more than lucky a few times. I wouldn’t be shocked if they didn’t renew for Mo. then again maybe Slot is seeing how he fits in his system before he commits.
Good one to have deferred a Sunday workout for - big game between Liverpool and Man City this AM.
Spoiler alert …
Liverpool continues their winning ways. Man City’s struggles continue.
Possibly interesting goalie storyline developing. Is Alison going to come back to his starting role from injury? Replacement guy is doing really well. And Man City made a starting goalie change… and still lost.
Wow, yeah City’s sudden collapse is shocking. I mentioned earlier, I’d like to see another team win this year. I don’t think it’s great for a league to have the same team win the league year after year. History shows that dynasties come and go, so it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if this is a start of that.
I’m loving their collapse of course. And would love ‘Pool to continue their run. I know they will stumble at some point but for now it is enjoyable.
Here’s to hoping the Fire hiring Berghalter will make a difference, that is if they don’t mess up the talent they bring/don’t bring in.
Tides turn(ing) at Manchester … City vs. United
City snatches a loss from the jaws of victory.
United steals a win with 2 goals in the final 2 minutes
In other news, Europe has announced the the qualifying groups for World Cup.
No obvious group of death, and looks like England’s in a group of life w/some minnows. . .
Hahahahahahahahahaha
I’m loving it.
This is the most precipitous fall of a big club that I can remember. Of course they may recover, but this has been an implosion.
The cynic in me wonders if this is an attempt to minimize the penalties they could get from the 110+ violations they have. Throwing matches to garner sympathy? But yeah the drop in performance is crazy to see.
The Catamounts that became the ‘Dogs came through!

Great story from NCAA soccer.
Unseeded team wins the national championship.
Saw that. Talk about a Cinderella!!!
Over the last 12 games, City have lost more games than Southampton.
