Drugs that can cause a multi-day trip?

A friend of the family’s went to a music festival, and now she’s been acting really unlike herself for four days in a row. Tripped out, delusional, confused, out of it. All things I have never seen her do.

She admitted she may have taken a drug, but isn’t quite sure what. Is there such thing as a drug that would give a person a 4-day trip? Most trips wear out well before that, like within 24 hours - right? (What do I know?)

It might be a psychiatric or psychological issue…or sleep deprivation…but we are trying to investigate the drug angle, including tracking down people she spent time with. Which is difficult, given she was randomly wandering a music festival meeting people here and there.

Meantime, someone has taken her car keys away and is making sure she doesn’t do anything (more) weird till her dad can see her.

Thank you for any insight…

Acid. The actual trip isn’t 4 days, but it’s a powerful drug that can have long-lasting psychological effects.

Abraham Lincoln’s morning breath.

Was she at the rave at the Cow Palace?

Mushrooms can do that. Depending on the amount and potency of them, you will be on another planet hallucinating for up to 10-12 hours, but the after effects (mood changes, coordination issues, abnormal behavior, etc.) I have seen last for 3 or 4 days. The traditional dose is by eating them raw, but apparently you can also brew it into tea and trip out, as demonstrated by the crazy UFC dude that killed his buddy.

She was/is in Southern California - don’t know which music festival.

Maybe they had some of the same bad batch? Hope she’s OK.

some of the drugs she could have taken, like ecstasy or some form of speed, could be messing with her sleep to the point where the affects now are more from sleep deprivation than from anything else. not likely, but possible. i’d kinda think it’s lsd, though, from your description.
there are some weirder hallucinogens out there, like mescaline and dmt (i think that’s it - it’s in electric kool-aid acid test).
she’ll get through it.

Having helped my fair share of people through trips I have to say stop posting on Slowtwitch and get to the ER. I babysat my friends all the time when they tripped in high school, it was fun then annoying. If the trip lasts longer then a few hours then there is something very wrong. She needs a doctor.

peyote
.

Don’t waste your time on finding the “friends” right now. Get her to a doctor where they can at least do a piss test to eliminate some of the drugs that may be in there. Meth will keep you up for weeks, but doesn’t really give u a “trip”. Get her checked out!

I’d take her to a doctor. Is there a chance she’s still using? Cuz 4 days is a long time.

If she got her hands on some REAL LSD-60 (Window Pane) and took in excess of 200 micrograms, she could be in for a few days of heavy shit. Flashbacks will come and go for some people for several days after the initial dose. Probably also very dehydrated from not properly hydrating while tripping. Some folks take one dose and are just never the same EVER again. It’s an individual brain chemistry thing. Modern chemists are really taking LSD to new places that Albert Hoffman didn’t intend it to go. I wouldn’t do it now, scary shit these days.

And yes, I know what I’m talking about. Spent my formative years touring with the Dead and did some pretty crazy shit.

Sounds like a good time to call President Carter

Hope your family friend is okay.

Definitely get your friend to the doctor!

I have never done anything harder than pot, but if you have a pre-existing psychiatric condition (or are predisposed to one) heavy drug use can trigger or exacerbate the condition. I tried pot once - I have OCD and it gave me a massive panic attack. The panic attack lasted a few hours but for weeks after I still felt jumpy and anxious, because the whole experience sort of preyed on a pre-existing problem. I cannot even imagine how I would have reacted had I tried a hard drug.

Tripped out, delusional, confused, out of it. All things I have never seen her do.

Specifically, what is she doing (after 48 hours) that is unusual?

**She admitted she may have taken a drug, but isn’t quite sure what. **

What did it look like? How was it injested?

Definitely get your friend to the doctor!

If she has been displaying these symptoms for four days, and hasn’t slept much, she is considered high risk as far as decision-making capabilities and possible psychiatric problems that were triggered by the drug. She needs to see a doc. Take her to emerg.

Update?

liquid lsd. to carry it around so no one suspects a thing in public it is kept in a small ‘fresh breath’ container, like the size of a clear eyes squeezable container. very common at festivals, one drop on the tongue and it’s almost instantly digested as in minutes and liquid form is fresh so very powerful. two or three drops and it’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas x’s ten, easy, the traces of that drug after it has run its full blown ‘tripping’ effect on the first day will remain in her system keeping her up and acting funny for days, possibly even weeks and the only way to test for it is in spinal fluid if i’m not mistaken, not in blood or urine after 24 hours. again, the most prevalent festival drug out there as it’s easy to carry and disperse and it’s a festival which is exactly what acid was and is intended for. You can thank Timothy Leary. http://www.timothyleary.us/

also exctasy which is heroine based and comes in the form of a pill for the most part but can be crushed and snorted or if she took both acid (lsd, either liquid or strip or anything such as sugar cubes dipped in liquid lsd-mind you that would be a hard trip as a a sugar cube will absorb a lot of acid) plus exctacy and that is known as candy flipping and can really mess you up as all of these drugs are hallucinogenics. add a line of cocaine and lights out.

crystal meth/ice/glass will keep you up for days. one tiny line, about one tenth the size of cocaine as in less than the radius of a penny and only a few millimeters in width and if it’s really pure then less than half of that, can keep you up for days and albeit it’s not a hallucinogentic it’s the sleep deprivation that alters the mind most of all.

watch for signs of sniffing and soreness/redness around her nose, tell tale signs of snorting something such as coke/meth/glass, anything. plus she will be rubbing her nose which in turn leads to that soreness and it’s something everyone who snorts those powdered drugs just does, you can not escape it.

I hope she gets better, bub.
