So you’re tellin me I shouldn’t be trying to drive from Boulder to Los Alamos, NM in about 3 hours eh?
Who wants to skate at N. Boulder Park or ride rollers?

Looks like my workout is going to be shoveling today.
Good meeting you at the clinic.
Just another report onto the heap we got going here. In downtown Boulder (for work) but only live a mile or so away. Going to need snow shoes to get home as this keeps up. I wish I had brought my camera to work today. The ledge outside my window when i got here had maybe an inch on it… it’s now got about 9-10!!! That’s just in the last 5 hours. HAVE FUN… but DRIVE SAFE!!! SO… anyone up for N.Boulder Rec for a swim this evening?? =)
I miss Ft. Collins! I used to live by the stadium, right below Horsetooth. Snow makes cold fun.
I didn’t relaize you were in FC, now I get your sig line- Big Thompson.
“Probably the same as Fort Collins.”
I was referring to Loveland Ski area, not the town. As the ski area is on the front range side of the mountains I was wondering if they were getting dumped on.
I know you’re probably not going to try, but just in case you or anyone else is tempted to drive anywhere.
I-25 is closed between Castle Rock and Co Springs, and again south of Pueblo.
Not much driving to be had along the front range today…
Not sure if I25 is even open at this point, I haven’t checked.
www.traffic.com is the $h!t for figuring out all kinds of traffic conditions in most major cities. I bet they can give you up-to-the-minute traffic info about I-25.
every time i go to estes those signs crack me up … ive kinda adopted it as a life motto!
Waaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!
I was supposed to be flying into DEN this afternoon, and hitting Breck/Vail/Beaver through Sunday. Guess that plan is out the window as unless I drive myself starting now, the earliest I’ll get there is Friday evening. ![]()
My parents are both home from work for the day now, 10+ inches accumulated in Centennial and drifts over 2 feet. Sounds like a real doozy.
It’s Nice an warm here in HELL.
Those signs always crack me up too! I imagine myself scaling the canyon walls like a goat.
the news is reporting all flights in/out of dia are cancelled. this is a front range storm. i dont think the mtns are getting much, if anything. depending on where you are, you might be able to come in over the western slope?
“10+ inches accumulated in Centennial and drifts over 2 feet.”
It has really tapered off here in southern Colorado Springs the last 30 minutes. The wind is still howling, but the snow is very light. Forecast still says it will continue to snow through the evening. Having lived here for 27 years I’m somewhat skeptical because once the snow lessens the storm generally is moving out of the area. North of here it may continue to be nasty though.
Coming out of ORD ( Chicago for you non airport code flaunting types ), so no joy on an alternate approach.
Choices are to hop all over the US and try to sneak in sooner ( puddle jumpers to Lincoln, NE or connect via Atlanta ) or take confirmed flight on Friday.
I may not get as much skiing in, but I’ll still get to see the folks for the holiday at least.
You should ping me when you get in, if you have time. I was looking for you in Kona and didn’t get to say hi. I am in Centennial as well.
took this right after the third shovelling…

sounds great a good nasty winter storm in from the mountains. Missall that snow blowing and roads being unpassable…lived in Boulder years ago…
Question which is off topic but is there still something of a green belt being kept up around the city. This was the area that years ago Boulder promised never to allow developers to touch. Just been wondering.
Hey Z-Dog I am in Foxfield - about 2 miles east of Centennial.
I just drove home. Total nightmare. Roads aren’t very cleared, very slippery, and a lot of traffic.
I would say yes.
The areas south of Boulder: Louisville, Superior etc. are getting built up but there is still a myriad of trails surrounding Boulder proper.
Cheers,
Alan
