Denver Storm

Time to hunker down for the day.

Why? As long as you run with the wind/snow at your back you’ll be OK.

i’m in fort collins and we pretty much have white out conditions up here.

“i’m in fort collins and we pretty much have white out conditions up here.”

Same here in Colorado Springs. I wish I was up skiing in this. These conditions drive people off the slopes leaving lots of great untracked powder.

Time to hunker down for the day.
I just got a notice that it should be hitting Minnesota late tonight. Hopefully it’ll come as snow and not freezing rain - its 38* right now.

Boulder’s just as bad.

Time to dust off the snowshoes (and I’m just talking about getting to the car

It’s snowing lightly but steadily up here in Summit County. The weather gurus say that this looks more like a Front Range storm than one for us. Boo hoo.

Seth

you guys suck, 40 and sunny in Maine, green grass, and another roller ski session.

I wonder what it’s doing at Loveland?

T-Racer’s school district closed this morning before we even had any accumulation. I’m at work still, there keeping us here until noon…which doesn’t make a lot of sense, but I only live around the corner, so no problem. We’re lucky, we have rooms here for employees who can’t make it home (over Monument Hill)

Same here. It was just windy. Looks like a smart decision now though.

Denver’s getting it pretty good. My firm’s closing at 2, but I could very well be stuck in here late tonight again. I’m definitely not looking forward to trying to wade my way out of here.

My car’s in the shop today, too - my windshield wipers died on the way in the office this morning. Gotta figure out a way to get home now.

The Warwick Hotel is running a deal for people snowed in and forced to stay in Denver tonight. Never heard of that before, but I’ve only been here a year.

Probably the same as Fort Collins. It seems like its coming down harder just in the last 30 mins or so.

I’m on the west side of Fort Collins.

I’m meant to drive up to Longmont this afternoon but based on what you guys are saying about Fort Collins, I might re-think it. Thanks.

Who needs the weather channel when you’ve got slowtwitch?

I don’t think I’d want to be out on 25 with those East-West gusts. Not sure if I25 is even open at this point, I haven’t checked. WC was reporting wind gusts of 35+mph in FC and stronger down south.

Of course I’m used to Cincinnati where the slightest snow cripples the city and everyone goes out and buys enough groceries for a month.

My sister, in Santa Fe, says its been snowing since 4:00 PM yesterday. She got her snow tires on just in time – earlier yesterday.

Thanks KY,

I think my orthopedists appointment can wait for another day. If I did go, I might have a few new injuries for him when I got there

Cheers,

Alan

It’s bad down here in Castle Pines, although the kids are all outside lovin’ the snow. Hubby had to go to work (they kicked him out at noon) and pick up his car from the shop. Someone rear ended him a few days ago, so instead of driving his usual 4-wheel-drive, he’s in a Mazda 626 on his way to the body shop right now. I’m hoping he makes it home before dark.

Good luck today and I hope you make it home. I guess we can all be thankful we’re not sitting at the airport.

Hey…I’m thinking I can skate ski into work tomorrow : ). Actually, that may be my only option as I’m guessing my car will bottom out when it hits the driveway tomorrow morning. It’s days like these that you really appreciate having a garage : ). I got new winter studded tires/wheels today…dang it was crowded at Discount Tire in Ft Collins!

I’m in Lyons, north of Boulder…pretty much white out here. It started around 8:30 this AM. I’m figuring about 6" on the ground now and it’s supposed to keep up until tomorrow. I’ve shovelled the driveway twice and I’m about ready to head out again. I’d rather do a couple inches every hour or two than try and dig out from over a foot tomorrow. Too bad Summit County isn’t getting this. I’ll keep my fingers crossed, though, as I’ve got a condo in Breck.
