Topic update:
-added links to main supplier site
-adding supplier main “profile pictures”, disclaimer if the links break it’ll get fixed…someday
-NOTE: if you want to respond with photos of your own from the list, please use the # in your post to correspond to the number in the list so forum members can cross reference it
-updated topic name to reflect it morphing into the “super extension super thread”
I thought there was a superthread on this but keep finding the tubeless tire topic instead.
Here is the updated list from posters in this topic: I’m putting here extensions that mostly seem to want to conform to the arms or otherwise manage airflow around the arms/hands. I’m not including basebar setups that use traditional round poles that just “tilt” or have custom fitting. That’s kind of a different topic IMO.
some of these are $2,000 or more. Its insane to me and I just don’t understand who spends this kind of money on aerobars
Fixed that for you, given this forum’s audience
Morftech? Unless youre just meaning the ones which try conforming to your whole arm.
I updated the first post with what others posted.
I’m excluding things that are more or less “fit” based extension/bar/tilt systems like the Tririg that might have a “comfy longer pad” setup. I’m kind of looking at having a list of extensions that intend to conform to the arm or otherwise “manage” airflow on purpose. Looking at an Anemoi or Ascalon it’s really apples and oranges comparing it to the Tririg.
I’ll say that having played around with both the Metron TFE pro extensions and the drag2zero poles, I would take the D2zero and my choice of armcups any day of the week. Way more contact on the forearms and infinitely more adjustability.
Of course the Scoops Ult is in a whole other category when it comes to comfort and I think you’re probably not correct about it not being designed to improve aero, but I don’t have any testing on that yet.
I had a chat with Vincent Louis after he won Herbalife24 Triathlon of Los Angeles. His custom, 3D printed bars were damaged in transit so he set some Profile Design extensions (~$78) bars with half a roll of duct tape (~$1.50). For a grand total of $79.50. That’s seventy dollars, not seven thousand dollars just to avoid confusion.
