Starting a new thread for the new year.
What shows are you planning for?
I’ve got Tedeschi Trucks in Chicago, and Goose/MMJ in Cabo so far.
I was thinking about starting this thread.
February
Offspring with Bad Religion (maybe, waiting on wife’s commitment) in Grand Rapids
Decedents and Frank Turner in Grand Rapids
April
Menzingers in Lansing
July
Jason Isbell in Grand Rapids
Train and Barenaked Ladies (Wife Pick)
September
Lost Evenings Music Festival in Dallas.
They just announced Tedeschi at the new amphitheater in Grand Rapids. The venue looks like it’s going to be awesome.
These are the shows I have tickets for:
February
20th - Stephen Kellogg (Evanston)
27th - Dave Hause and the Mermaid (Chicago)
March
15th - Frank Turner and Descendents (Chicago)
17th - Lucero (Chicago)
May
1st-3rd – Sing Us Home (Philly) - I have tickets but not sure if I will make it or not
Sept
18th-20th - Riot Fest (Chicago)
24th-27th- Lost Evenings (Dallas)
I may add the Menzingers in April as its super close to the house since they are playing in the burbs but its a school night so I am holding off for now since i have seen them like 3 times in the last year.
Already have tickets for Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age in August…
Corrosion of Conformity and Tori Amos both just announced local shows for spring/summer. I’m looking at Amyl and The Sniffers as well. Iron Maiden is playing with Megadeth and Anthrax in north Jersey Labor Day weekend, but it looks like tickets for that are already scarce and expensive.
So far John Hiatt and Lyle Lovett at the Groton Hill Music Center, Groton, Ma.
Ludovico Einaudi, Wellington NZ, February 2nd. Can’t wait.
Everything is way too far in advance to plan for. The only thing I have tickets for is to take my 11-year old dude to see Hamilton in Kansas City in March and then see it again here in Nashville in June.
I always enjoy seeing what the Coffee Shop crowd has planned..
I freely admit that dragging my 60+yr/old butt out to shows, even on weekends, is getting harder all the time. That said, live music is still my happiest place. So far, this is what I have for 2026:
Feb: Billy Strings/Jonathan Richman(spousal command performance)/Triptides(LA neo-psych)
March: I make it to SxSW most years. Undecided for 2026
May: I’m going to do something different - Fuzz Club Festival outside of Amsterdam. Yet more garage/psych..
I bought tickets to see the Head and the Heart at Red Rocks this summer as I’ve always wanted to see a concert there (live in FL). Then a week later it was announced that the Avett Brothers would be there a few days before, so now I’m going to see two concerts there in one week. Looking forward to sandwiching in a nice trip to RMNP in between the concerts.
Going to Zach Bryan in June. That’s about it. Unless KISS is going to do a 30th final tour.
As of now, only Jack Johnson in June.
I got tickets for Iration in May but it’s apparently the same night as my nephew’s HS grad party, so no-go.
Also saw Lettuce last night, last-minute thing, never heard of them before. Fun band.
Going to see the Turnpike Troubadours a week from Thursday in Philly.
Goose Summer Tour Tickets go on sale this Thursday. Hopefully seeing them July 2nd in NJ.
How has SX been lately? last time I went was around 2010, no badge, but caught some cool shows, including a backyard Dan Deacon set.
Considering signing up to volunteer to get a badge this year.
It’s a fraction the size it used to be; fewer bands/fewer stages/fewer people traveling to attend; bands are still coming from all over the world but the festival is not a cultural event anymore. I think it will be quite surprising if it’s been 15 years since your last visit (and man, has Austin changed). As far as getting a badge goes, consider this: the day shows are all still free and depending on who you want to see at the official showcases, you can usually get in by paying a small cover. There’s value to the badge but you can see just as much music without one..
In February seeing Dropkick Murphys one night followed by Kenny Wayne Sheppard the next night
Apparently Noah Kahan is coming to Citizens Bank Park in June; D’Girls plan to attend
I was not included in the conversation LOL
He is one person I would definitely like to see..
Alter Bridge. May also try to see Rush with Anika.
