The Turnpike Troubadours were outstanding last night at the Met in Philly. Robert Earl Keen opened with a very entertaining 50 minute set. The Troubadours followed with 2 hours of pure energy and the crowd was into it from the first note. The lead singer seemed amazed that a Philly crowd would know the words to a Red Clay Country Bandâs songs. If you havenât given them a listen I highly encourage it. It isnât main stream pop country and it isnât old school. It has a life of its own and the lyrics and musicianship are at a very high level.
The Met is a beautiful venue. The location, not so much. If you go scout out parking beforehand and I highly recommend getting seats on the 2nd level side mezzanine. They are only slightly more expensive and offer plenty of space and a place to set down your beer if you choose to indulge.
Just booked Pendleton Whiskey Music Fest yesterday. Country. Zack Top, Shaboozey, Carly Pearce, Chance Williams, Diamond Rio. Will take the RV and stay at the grounds for 2 days. Been going the last 5 years and itâs always a good time.
Forgot to come back here to update. Yeah that was memorable. They started with the entire orchestra playing his lesser known pieces and Ludovico on the piano. Then the orchestra left the stage and Ludovico played piano solo. Nuvole Bianche of course. Orchestra came back and played the better known pieces ending with of course Experience. Encore was something Iâve never heard before maybe its new?
We saw David Byrne at The Met. Being upstairs, we could see all the âdisplaysâ they had on the stage floor that people downstairs wouldâve missed
Itâs a lot like The Basie in Red Bank
Love the Met, and the Basie (and the Tower, which reminds me of both and is a super-convenient 10-minute trolley ride for me - I wish theyâd refurb and reopen it).
Re: @GFD 's comment on parking, thereâs a decently safe lot a block back off Broad behind Osteria that weâve used for Met shows (for one show there we parked on Girard by the Temple practice field, a few cars up from us was a couple living in a trashed Lincoln Town Car - not ideal).
This sounds fun!
I was on the pre-sale list for Post Malone and Jelly Roll. I would really like to see Post Malone; donât care about Jelly Roll. But, itâs at the football stadium and mid priced tickets are like $250. Theyâre cheap upstairs in the nosebleeds, but I donât want to sit up there. So Iâm guessing I will skip the concert.
Noah Kahan in August at Coors Field.
DâGirls got first level seats behind home plate at Citizens Bank Park for June
Itâs happening?
Tool Announce Las Vegas Sphere Residency
Tool have officially announced a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, marking one of the most ambitious live undertakings of their career.
The band confirmed that they will perform a multi-night run at the high-tech venue, known for its immersive visual capabilities and state-of-the-art sound system. While Tool have built a reputation for elaborate stage production, the Sphereâs 360-degree LED display and advanced audio technology offer a platform unlike any traditional arena.

Maybe 2032?
I did see the clip of Danny marching with a HS band on Fremont. So, maybe 2029?
While Iâd love for this to happen, I havenât seen any âofficialâ announcement yet.. Danny Carey mentioned in an interview that theyâre working on new music, and that theyâve had talks with Sphere management about a possible 2027 residency to support the new music/album.
Jason Isbell at Radio City this coming Friday (2/20). 7th show of his. Canât wait.
Bruce and the E Street Band are coming around again for the âNo Kingsâ tour. 20 shows announced, almost all arena sized venues. That will be a tough ticket to get. My guess is shows will be added.
