It’s my first time, but I’m really looking forward to it as I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. Also, if anyone in the LA area (I live in Long Beach) wants to commute down to Pendleton together post here and let me know. I’m happy to drive and would appreciate the company on the early morning drive.
I am in. Rode through Pendleton on Saturday…awesome place, Marines were accomodating as always. There was a lot of rocks and what not on the road but the construction has been finished. Looking forward to it!
No glitz? Last year’s t-shirt had a picture of a swimmer doing fly so afterwards I kept telling people that it was a tri with a fly swim…some of them even believed me
I will be doing the race as well. I will be backing it down somewhat on the run as I also have the Vineman to do the next week. and for me a 1/2 is a long event. I know a lot of you do full IM’s and the Oly’s and 1/2 are training days for you guys. Well I am not at that level. So see you guys out there.
Does anyone know about the logistics for spectators, parking, entrance, etc.? I don’t think they are going to want to get there at 5:30 with me for an 8:15 start.
First time also. Have heard nothing but good stuff.
Hope I don’t burn out by visiting the Zoo and Sea World. Its the chance I take to make this a “Family Vacation”.
I plan to Thank all those Marines for their sacrafices so we can do these events.
Enjoy
you will have plenty of parking on a field. and it is kind of hard to see people unless you see them swim and run and the bike is out and back. Best bet is to have them see you swim, and then maybe t1 and t2 and then they can see you run the 2 loops of the run course and see you finish. the bike is out of the question.
