Super mature and atypical of Wilde to steadily catch Bogen, but then just sit in when into the headwind.
He doesn’t need to push but he will struggle to control that urge. Integrate this race into his rehab and return to fitness.
I can’t see Geens can catch either Bogen or Noodt: just too much of a gap at T2 and after 2 laps. Unless one of them blows.
It’s really amazing. I expected him to contend for part of the race and then fade due to lack of training volume. It’s remarkable that he’s back at this level this fast.
Geens is motoring. Faster than Wilde by 15secs per km. Gap to Wilde is only 130 secs with 6km to go. He’ll surely run into #2 ahead of Noodt.
I assume Wilde has been cruising.
He does, doesn’t he? The only time Wilde came second recently is Taupo where he ran stupid fast for the first 15km of a half marathon, and Geens ran him down.
A reprise of Paris, really. Lesson not learned!
I think Wilde would’ve won with an even paced run
His tri suit is horrendous. I love the guy, but he desperately needs a new kit.
Was Harry Palmer ever in the race at all? Will be interested in hearing his thoughts after this one. Just came off a win in Leeds and is a mile back today.
I genuinely don’t want to hear a word from Sam Long.
For me, from a quality of broadcast perspective. This is the best one I’ve watched since Challenge Daytona. Directing is pretty good overall. Comms are solid and make sense.
