So many shows here!
Didn’t get tickets to FireAid - well I could have if I wanted to spend $400, and I didn’t. But did luck into a Blink 182 fire benefit show; last night at the 4,000 capacity Hollywood palladium. Holy shit. I’ve been a casual fan and had a couple discs, but they are amazing live. Especially in a club setting. And at 58 the first show I can recall with a mosh pit and crowd surfing (not me, stayed well away from that- although a guy got in front of me and asked me if I’d lift him- LOL I’d seen other folks getting kicked in the face and I was “yeah, no”)
Travis Barker is a beast
Bush w/Filter in May.
So far for 2025 for us - Meet/Greet to see Bullet For My Valentine, Bush, Linkin Park.
Tempted to get tickets to see Halsey, but its adding up to be an expensive year of travel with concerts and races…
Sturgil simpson, either meadowbrook or mpls.
Goo Goo Dolls in Aug in Toronto. Wouldn’t normally go out of my way to see them, but we are there that weekend anyway for Linkin Park…
Elbow in September.
They hardly ever seem to tour here and this will be in a tiny local venue (they play arenas in the UK).
Some of my favorites are at Punk Rock Bowling this year. I just bounced the idea of a Vegas weekend off my wife and the response was somewhat cooler than luke warm
Ghost and Weird Al are on the same day,
So we’re seeing Weird Al in Philly, and Ghost on Baltimore.
Sweet!
It’s also getting a remastered vinyl release.
Just got tickets to MANÁ here in September.
Caught a great cover/tribute band show last night, Experience Hendrix.
Rotating in and out lead singers/guitarists, with backing bands of Los Lobos and Kenny Wayne Shepherd band.
For any Hendrix fans (in my case Marcus King and Kenny Wayner Shepherd) - worth a look.
Added a couple more…
Coldplay in Toronto, July
Foreigner & 54 40 in Halifax, October
I’ve seen Idles, Make them Suffer, Fontaines DC and Shame this year.
Fontaines DC were frigging amazing. Possibly the best concert I have ever been to.
Bloc Party coming here later this year to play Silent Alarm. Banquet was my favourite song for ages so might check that out too.
Have seen Shame several times since 2019(I think) and they are damned entertaining.
Yeah the singer is a hard case. Doesn’t take himself too serious and kinda mocks the rock star thing. Plus guitarist doing these rolly pollies on stage
