Who keeps changing the thread titles of the threads? I can’t see post counts, so this just looks like a new thread to me.

I am (as the OP). There is quality content in here and if it stayed as ‘start list’ then our chat would be buried in the ‘Page 2’ of ST when ‘you know who’ starts another thread called ‘last few days’ or ‘Race Day ticker’.
The other complication is that when ‘admin’ generates a new thread for each ST Front Page article (eg the excellent one by @ironmandad quoted below) there’s jeopardy that again, all this stuff effectively disappears.
Hope that is a reasonable rationale: “2024 70.3 Worlds in Taupo” will remain in the title, which should help you either to see what others have posted or not so to do :frowning:

I thought admin had deleted it by mistake trying to merge it to another thread, was looking for it for ages, someone has post a prediction for this race in the T100 thread, so I might not be the only confused slowtwitcher.

Revised picks, based on Stimpsons reasons for a poor couple of years and just being happy to be here and Smiths apparent Covid.

For your info, Buckingham is not here and has not raced for ages.

Sorry, just confirm Buckingham isn’t racing?

Not raced for ages is what im looking for to have a good race, but im pretty sure she was injured? Which isn’t what I was looking for!

Quiet on socials makes no difference unless when shes fit she’s always posting on socials?

Kyle Smith has Covid? Where and when was that disclosed?

Agreed; “quiet on socials” sounds non-conclusive, and one assumes that Tim Heming, of all people, would know if she was out.

Was talked about on the PTN Podcast

Sorry, had covid recently (read in T100 thread.)

Buckingham’s name (was bib no #31) disappeared from the start list about 2 days ago (after Tim Heming’s article btw). And BMC Pro Tri team socials only highlight Hoegenhaug as racing.

I am going to go:

Derron
Gentle
Knibb

Geens
Bergere
Bogen

I am hoping Tom Bishop and Jodie Stimpson have outstanding races but both are coming back from injury so probably unlikely.

Revised picks, unless someone spots Buckingham out and about and I may re add her.

Do you mean Lucy Buckingham? If so I am pretty sure she is in Leeds.

Yes, she’s on the start list for this race, what makes you say she’s in Leeds?

Here’s how the women’s race is going to go (key players only):
Small front pack on the long run from the beach to T1 with Knibb and Pohle in it. Wilms, Meißner and Perez Sala. Knibb puts socks on to let the others get ahead and then reels them in. Pohle stays with Knibb to half way.
A couple more packs hit the beach with Simmonds, Derron and Gentle and maybe Findlay too up there.
Simmonds rides away chasing the leaders but Findlay will not shake the clingons at 12m.
Madsen, Matthews, Loevseth a further minute back. Combo/some of those catch up some.
Knibb with a gap at T2, with Simmonds closest and Pohle in third. Gentle and Derron caught but not shaken by Matthews/Loevseth, and Findlay there too.
Derron, Gentle and Matthews run fest ( catching Knibb a bit) with Gentle suffering from the adverse effects of Dubai second half. Two catch Pohle and in the last third: Simmonds.
#1 Knibb
#2 Derron
#3 Matthews
