ZZZZZzzzzzzzz

Two days with no sleep and counting…anyone want to bet how long I go? Last good effort was 8 days…

Intentional or unintentional sleep deprivation?

One night post seizure ER trip (I hate it when I wake up in the ER and dont know how I got there) one night being afraid to go to sleep for fear I wake up in the ER, or worse.

Jesus. Is it the seizures themselves that are dangerous or is it what happens while the seizure is taking place that’s dangerous (or both)?

Dude, how do you do two even? I would be fired, lonely and probably in jail if I missed that much sleep especially with workouts. Can’t they provide anything to help?

I have in the past bit off my tounge (60%), had such severe seizures that I caused compression fractures in my back (C5), fell and landed on tables and put my head into the wall (oops) and now been found (post seizure) wandering around the neighborhood.

When I do things, I do it big…why just have a seizure when you can have a full blown Gran Mal?

I dont like to take the drugs as they are (and I have been) easilly addictive.

I’m sorry to hear that. I knew that you had brain surgery a while ago, but I didn’t realize that you were epileptic/prone to seizures(my knowledge of the subject is very limited.)

I hope you feel better, and get some sleep soon, but don’t wake up anywhere funny.

I decided to not have the surgury as the risk / gain factor was heavy on the risk side. Why take a huge risk for a 20% chance of improvement and 80% chance things would get worse faster.

That makes sense. It must have been a tough decision to make, though.

My brother-in-law had a brain aneurysm when he was 28. That left him partially paralyzed and prone to seizures(I don’t know how it works, but that’s what happened.) They operated on him to repair the affected vessel, and he had a stroke on the table. Now he only has partial use of his left side, although his brain is fine. In his case, there really wasn’t much of an option, since the aneurysm would have killed him eventually.
