So I watch a bit of gp lama in you tube
He recently did a vid of getting into level 100 , but he was only at 28 million xp
I’m at level 88 but have 38 million xp
So how does that work , I resume he gets way more ride ons than me , and probably done lots of racing (I don’t)
Does that make any difference?
Thanks
Zwift has changed the amount of XP you need to level up a bunch of times over the years. It’s likely he just leveled up back when the scale needed was easier.
On top of this Zwift used to top out at level 50 and they increased it to 60 and then again to 100. I think anyone who was already at level 50 (when it changed to 60) got accelerated leveling which made it easier to to get to the next cap.
In this case it’s a pure XP per level calculation.
All the bonus, accelerated or other XP gained goes into total XP. If OP has more XP but fewer levels, the only answer is that at some point gplama did his leveling when it was fewer XP required to do so
I find the levels to be oddly motivating, but having been stuck at 25, 50, 60, and now stuck at 100 since last September, it gets a little frustrating that it seems this difficult for Zwift to come up with 100 new designs for socks, gloves and jerseys to let us climb to 200.
@BrzilianTri ok yes that could be true
what is the running score thing i have on right hand side of zwift screen ?
and how does that go when lookinhg at mt level (87)
Those are drops that you get by riding and gets a multiplier number if you ride with one of the bots, it can get up to 2x the regular accumulation. But they have nothing to do with the level, you can use drops to buy bikes and wheels and upgrade the bikes. The XP is what counts for the levels. You can see your XP when you hit Menu during riding; it is the “rider score” value close to the blue bar that indicates your level progress. I think now it is needed 591,000 to get to level 100, it used to be 750,000 just to get to level 60. There are a couple of different ways to get more XP other than just accumulating distance. Riding a TT bike on a route that has a bunch of banners, instead of getting a power up you get 15 XP sometime 250 XP. Also doing some crazy custom workouts.
