I updated my custom workouts in Zwift on my lap top but I can’t get them to show up on my Apple TV in my pain cave. I’ve found plenty of advice on importing workouts from TrainingPeaks or similar but not from the actual Zwift app section for custom workouts. This is very frustrating and it seems like it should be automatic but obviously thats not the case.

It can be cumbersome. You need to create your custom workout on a Mac or Win PC that has Zwift installed; after you save the workout, it will be mirrored on Zwift and available via your Apple TV. I’ve been using Apple TV for a good chunk of time, and I haven’t found a more expedient method when building workouts in Zwift.
I thought that is exactly what I did but you can see from my screen shots from my PC laptop and my Apple TV only one workout has transferred. It’s been 2 days and I reloaded my Apple TV, the Zwift app, etc… and still only one of the workouts has come over which seems so weird. If one can came over why not the remaining?
What you might want to check is to see if the workouts are listed in your Documents–>Zwift–>Workouts–>six digit number folder. An easy way to see is to sort the files in this directory by the date modified column. What I do is launch Zwift on my PC, create my workouts, verify that they are in the Document’s directory as described above, and then close Zwift. I then relaunch Zwift to make sure that the workouts are pushed off my local machine. If your workouts aren’t in the Documents folder, as described above, they won’t get synched. If they are in the Docs folder, then there might be a connectivity issue on your laptop. While the instructions above are for a Windows machine, the same concept will hold for the Workouts directory on a Mac.
I might be missing something on why things aren’t synching for you, so I’ll poke around on this some more.
I’m looking at my PC documents–>Zwift–>Workouts–>six digit number folder and I don’t see the current workouts, just the old workouts. So…that appears to be the problem. The question now is “how do I get them to appear in that folder on my PC?”

Sounds like we’re getting closer. In Windows Explorer, you can search for files in the upper-right corner of the application. Enter *.zwo (.zwo is the file extension for Zwift workout files). This should display all of the files with this extension; right-clicking on your most recent results should give you an Open File Location option, which will show you where the file is. Then, you can copy and paste the file into the six digit workouts directory in Zwift.
Thanks for your continued help but this is now beyond frustrating…I searched as you suggested for the .zwo files and could only find the old files. I deleted the old files and left on the one file that actually transferred. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the Zwift app on my PC, my tablet and my Apple TV and nothing has changed. Only the old workout files are showing up on the Tablet and Apple TV app, except for my laptop that has the updated workout files that I created two days ago.

Sorry for the delay. This is an interesting problem for me, but I certainly understand your frustration. I’ll try to replicate the problem on my end to see what I can find today. Have you submitted a ticket to Zwift? The can be slow in response, but I have had a chance to work with their tech support in the past. I’ll submit a ticket, too,

Where did the workout come from? Did you create it within Zwift on your Mac/PC? Did you use a tool like https://zwofactory.com/? Were you getting it from TrainingPeaks?
I just made the workout in Zwift in the custom workout section on the app on my PC laptop. I’ve done this before and no issues other than a delay of the workout loading on my Apple TV.
I’ll be submitting a ticket to Zwift since it seems that might be the only solution.

I’ve been trying to replicate the problem and am getting nowhere. Somehow, I suspect the the workouts that you’re writing aren’t being saved, which explains why they aren’t appearing when you do a wildcard search. This certainly will be frustrating and I’ll keep poking on my end, too, as I’m curious and I work with enough people where I suspect that I might run into this problem again
I experienced a similar issue in the past with Zwift for Apple TV. After some research, I found out that updates to existing workouts will not sync but if you create a brand new workout, it should appear on your Apple TV. I haven’t been able to track that post down to share it with you here, but that’s another workaround you could try.
