(I finally rode a smart trainer yesterday for the first time: Zwift Hub)
I understand that Zwift can’t cast from an iPad to a TV, so it seems like the only option is to mirror my screen to Chromecast. I used the Replica app yesterday, and only mid-ride found out that the free version stops every fifteen minutes and requires a restart. The resolution on my TV wasn’t great, either.
Is the paid version any better wrt screen resolution? What have others done?
I’m using an iPad with a Lightning to HDMI adapter running to my 50" TV. As long as you don’t mind a cable running from your iPad to your TV, it works great…

Lightning Digital AV Adapter
What a great f’ing idea, thanks! I have the adapter and an HDMI cable. Might need to adjust where things sit, but this will do the trick.
If you are running later versions of iOS, then you’ll need a genuine Apple lightning to hdmi adapter, as they made it so the cheap shonky one’s don’t work.
Bonus is, it charges at the same time

I’m not a big Apple fan and originally was running Zwift on a decent gaming PC. When we were in the process of moving, I did a ride with Zwift being driven by an iPad, and it was a much smoother, less problematic experience, so much so that I ended up using it connected to a large monitor for almost year. About 18 months ago, I switched to Apple TV 4K and haven’t looked back. It’s an inexpensive device that just works well. I don’t use it for anything else, but for Zwift it has proven to be foolproof, so much so that I always recommend it when someone new is starting out. I’m still not an Apple fan, but for Zwift, Apple TV seems to have nailed it.

Lightning Digital AV Adapter
Worked like a charm, thanks again! Running this sucked about 1% of my iPad power per two minutes. The adapter has a slot for the charger, if I need it.
