Zipp wheel combos

Originally I was just looking at getting two 404’s. However, before jumping in, I thought I’d play around with the idea of using two different size Zipps on my bike. I read (on the Zipp site, I think) that lighter riders (I’m 130 lbs) can get good results from a 303/808 combination.

Also, I’ve been told that Zipp’s hubs are the best thing out there. I’ve got Chris Kings on a bike and thought that they were at the top of the heap.

Comments???

PS - I hear that the new Firecrest clincher approaches the wgt. of a tubular, and from what I read, it is superior aerodynamically to the older design. Has anyone ridden them?

What is your intended usage for this wheelset?

I’ve got 303’s and 404’s. @ 180lbs I have no trouble with the 404, but I can sure tell the difference in the ‘jump’. Aerodynamically the 404 does better than the 303’s but on my roadie it is pretty hard to tell the difference.
as far as the CC version, I understand the shape is supposed to be better, but the weight is still a bit portly as compared to the tubie version.

The new wider 303 seems to be a great wheel in all aspects (the tubie) and if I only had one set of wheels for the road I think that is what I would get.
