Zipp 404 Clydesdale Performance

I have an opportunity to purchase my first set of race wheels at a good price. I plan to use them for sprints, olys, and 1/2’s. The catch is; they are clydesdales and I am 165lbs. Other than adding 52 grams, will they have any other negative affects? Should I jump at them or run away?

I would guess you would probably rather have 808’s or a 404 on the front and an 808 on the back.

I would probably wait, there will be another “deal” come your way.

What is the “deal” price? How much have they been used?

$800. They are 2008s but were only used one season and look newish. They also have Chris King hubs. I don’t think I will find a better deal - at least not in the near term.

If they are legit, with no cracks or whatever, then you’re right, you won’t find a better deal on a set of 404’s from 2008. Seems really low, but if you know the person selling, I’d jump on it if a 404 is what you want.

If you dont want them let me know who is selling them. I may want them.

I will let you know if I pass on them and why I did. I am hoping to inspect them tomorrow and will decide then. Thanks for your thoughts. I feel better that no one said that it is stupid idea to ride clydesdales at 165lbs. If anyone gives me crap, I will make up a story tell them that my playing weight was 240.

$800 sounds like a great deal for these. And you can train on them being Clydesdale wheels. The King hubs is just icing on the cake. Good luck!
