Rear hub circa 2014 pictured here:

(“2014 188 V9 rear”)
Question, can I place an XD or XDR with spacer driver on this hub in order to accommodate a 3T 11 speed bail out cassette (9-32) ???
If so can someone point to the part number or possible vendor that may have this?
Thanks!
Maurice

Keeping Zipp’s 188 hub parts straight over the years has been difficult. There’ve been so many running revisions.
I have never seen an XD/XDR freehub offered for the 188. These came to the 176/177 hub line first, then the Congnition series and finally the ZR1 hubs.
To see if I missed anything I ran back thru Zipp’s spare parts catalogs from 2015 forward and found nothing for the 188/v9 here: https://www.sram.com/en/service/articles/zipp-spc-archive
I did note that in 2019 they list an XDR freehub for the Super9 Disc rim brake that seems to be the equivalent for the Shimano/SRAM HG freehub when cross referencing the 188 disc hub to the 188v9:hub. Perhaps search the net for this part number and if you can get it from a vendor that offers returns you can give it a shot. 11.1198.077.000 it appears to be out of stock most places. The fact that Zipp doesn’t show it as an offering for the regular 188 road hubs may mean there’s some nuanced difference with the disc hub/freehub interface. With Zipp it is always hard to be sure.
I’d say call Zipp, but I’ve found there is a lot less product history knowledge from those you can get on the phone there these days.
Hey,
Thank you very much for the detailed response…Just what we’re looking for. I’ll try and source that part.
Basically have someone in between bikes (going to 12s and disc next year) and looking for a bit more availability on the small side.
