This little guy has been my go to for many years now. I’ve taken off the part with the screw and what is left is a piece of plastic that can accept one or two bottles, plus other gizmos if you have them. I’ve taken a Dremel to the mounting piece to put a groove in it that better matches my aero seatpost and zip tied this on my saddle rails and seatpost.

Seems like doing this would make the bottles stick way out the side, and become super draggy?

I use one of these. I tie the bottles down with a couple of large rubber bands otherwise if you go over a large bump the bottles when full can bounce out.

I race with only one bottle, but sometimes use the two bottle set up for long training rides where I need a lot of fluids (Phoenix, Arizona). Even with two bottles, they still hide behind my hips pretty well.

Bolt the two bottle cages together (using the mounting holes), then zip tie the combined assembly to the saddle/post. As with lots of the zip tie solutions, it’s dependent on the cages and your saddle setup.

Is that the profile mount as well as just the profile cages? If so, be warned, I put one on my gf’s tri bike and it snapped after only a few hundred miles. Not impressed with it.

The photo is just one off the net. I use the bracket that it came with attached to my seat. One of the bolts snapped once on a long training ride. I now only put it on the bike when I have a century type event to do plus carry 2 spare bolts in my tool kit.

My Profile snapped off at about mile 65 at Chattanooga-Sucked riding the last 50 odd without the nutrition I trained with, that will never happen again-Will only train with what is available on the course now having launched bottles previously and now losing the entire rack.

I have had a system going 3 seasons with hardly any problems. http://forum.slowtwitch.com/cgi-bin/gforum.cgi?post=5150253#5150253. A couple bottle launches (that could be prevented with a better cage) is really the only thing I could complain about.

It’s not entirely zip ties though. It does use part of the Profile Design mount that is mentioned in this thread.
