You all hear me talking this up. Many have asked what seamless means. Well I know I was a bit surprised when I got my first pair of Compresion shorts and it had seams. The garment industry has a different definition of seamless. Zensah stuff has 3 types of seams (in my definition). Here are some BIG pics, I did not shrink them so you can see better what I am talking about.
The 3 types of seams (by my def.)
Conventional Seams
Flat sewn seams
Seamless (can that really be a seam?)
Conventional seam are used when they want to join 2 pieces of cloth, and decide it does not need a flat seam (attaching sleeves to shirts, and the underside of the sleeves Like conventional t’s)
Type 2 flat sewn is used when they join 2 pieces together but a seam there would be bad (underside of the shorts and in the crotch).
Type 3 is when they have different types of fabric or weave within a single panel (the shirt body, and tight legs are prime examples)
Here is a pic that shows an armpit area. You can see the conventional seam running through the middle then up the middle. On the lower right and left you can see where 2 weaves come together in what I call seamless (it really is).
Here is a pic of the flat seam on the short’s. I really was concerned about this until I ran, no problem at all.
Here is a picture of the back and side of a shirt so you can see the extensive use of different weaves in one place. The back and side of the shirts to me shows how much work they put into this to make it right.
Feel free to ask any questions. Between my wife and I we own nearly everything they make. She likes the ckull cape , to small for my head, but I love the Balaclava.
Oh, no don’t work for them, not sponsored by them just a supporter.
Yeah, “seamless” is kinda like a “seedless” watermelon. Do agree however they make great stuff. I wore one of their long sleeve shirts on bike and run at IMFL this year and really liked it.
Glad to see many fans of the brand out there. I met with Ze’ev the day before MiamiMan, and we spoke a lot about Zensah 2007 - they are coming out with even cooler stuff.
How do their sizes run? I’m looking to buy a long sleeve shirt. I’m probably a small, but wanted to make sure they don’t run super small (I’m 5’4" 120)
