The problem is that he has two time trials. If he can pull this off with top finishes in each time tiral, I’ll be impressed.
I wonder if CSC will re-sign him when his contract expires
.
you know he has spent a considerable amount of time on the front controlling for fabian c. and will be expected to do the same if sastre gets himself up on the GC, or work for sastre at the bottoms of mountains. so i think he is resting as much as possible and has few individual aspirations for the race.
although he hasn’t been racking up the wins this season… he did just notch a 5th place at the dauphine libere.
he won’t finish last because of his TT skills.
How exactly does one get negative points in the Green Jersey race? That’s the question I have…
B
Penalties are one way I believe.
Dave mentioned that his goal is to complete the Tour as simply as possible, have as much fun as possible, but still pull Sastre to victory…oh and win the TT’s. One other word of note, CSC is renewing contracts and he is a little stressed he hasn’t been approached yet.
In his video diary yesterday, he “joked” that he might miss a sponsor meeting, just so he could get fired.
Can someone explain to me how Hushovd can be fourth from the top in points, but sixth from the bottom on GC, more than an hour behind, merely 3 minutes ahead of Dizzy Zabriskie … did he rush to the front to grab all the sprint points then sit back for the rest of the day???
Yes. That’s how it’s done. Sprint for points. Climb on the bus when the road goes up.
39 ZABRISKIE David (USA) TEAM CSC outside time limit
And so, it is done.
Thanks Dizzy, it was fun.
Well I hope he keeps doing the Zabriskie diaries on VeloNews. Or at least one more, should be some funny commentary about this!
