Zabel is a total Stud

The guys is ALWAYs in contention. All year at pretty well every event that counts, from March until October. The man is a machine and he seems to keep the rubber side of his bike in the right place, which is incredible given the number of 70 kph sprints he is involved in. I’ve never seen this guy “pack his bags and quit”. He always finishes quite well even in mountain stages.

Clearly he is a class act. This is the type of athlete I look up to. Races with heart, never quits, races all year, gives his best effort and gets results on a team that is geared more for GC wins then stage or classic victories.

Congrats to Zabel on an incredible Silver at World’s…and Oscar Friere is no slouch either.

My training buddy’s son (Brooke Boocock) who raced on the Canadian Junior National Team in Verona at the road race as a 17 year old, had a DNF. Its his first year of real road racing, so hopefully, he has a long way to go. Either way, being in the same Championship featuring Friere, Rogers and Zabel must be totally inspiring. How many 17 year olds will ever see that !

You’re right. Zabel’s a solid guy.

What about Oscar Freire? 3 world championships in 5 years and only the 4th rider in history with 3!

I couldn’t agree more with ya Paul.

You know I really wanted Zabel to win… With his year and his pile upon pile of 2nd places you just wanted him to win the worlds.

Oscar is a stud though for sure…

Does anyone know how Zabel is placed on the year long world cup… with all of his second palces hew is surely up there… He could get the rainbow that way right?

In addition it is nice to see Chris Horner up there in the thick of it… Especially nice cap to the great webcor season. Hopefully there will be another american World Cup winner sometime soon
