Yurbuds Inspire OR Yurbuds Focus

Hi all,

I am looking at getting a new set of earphones for running. I have narrowed it down to Yurbuds Inspire and yurbuds Focus. Apart from the major price differences between the two earphones what are the major differences. Is the extra $20 worth it? All I was after was just a few opinions on which set I should go for. Any help is appreciated.

Cheers Alex

I received the Inspire model (not the Insprire Pro) as a gift and have no complaints. I don’t use them for every run or trainer ride, but when I do they’ve offered pretty good sound and I’ve never popped a bud out by turning my head or during any technical trail running. They’ve definitely been sweated on - soaked - and they’re still going strong. The cord is longer, but not to the point of being an issue. Of course, my comparison in all of this is only against the white Apple ear buds (which I’ve destroyed on multiple occasions with sweat). I don’t have any experience with the Focus so I guess I can’t really answer your question!

You’re paying for the bud thing, so I’d say the cheaper the better. You can always swap out the headphone itself. I have the $30 model and have no complaints.

I wouldn’t get either. After a lot of use the red plastic pieces stretch out and fall off.

I have the Ironman inspire. I broke the first pair in four months and sent them back to Yurbuds. Customer service was great. The new inspire buds have kevlar for wrapping the cord and now have a much more durable connector made of metal instead of plastic. These have proved the best earbuds I have ever used. I ran with these during 100+ heat conditions and sweat profusely but they still pumped out the tunes and kept running when others had given up.

Inspire have Kevlar cord, better Y-splitter, carrying case, and slightly better sound. If none of that matters, and you just want the fit, then the Focus are great. You can also head to a specialty store and get the personalized series where they will actually measure your ear!

I lost a couple buds when they fell off the ear speaker when I had them out of my ear … I now superglue the bud onto the earspeaker … very simple/ no further problem. When you lose the bud, you have to replace it with a whole new set … they won’t sell you just the bud as I’m sure you know.

+1, they’re great until the plastic stretches and you just lose them, and no matter how many times you install it, it comes right off.

You actually can get replacements, and in a lot of different sizes & colors too. According to the FAQ, the default size that most ship with is size 5.

But I do like the idea of gluing them on, as have never had a reason to remove mine. I wonder about using a less permanent glue though, so they might be replaceable if they do rip.
