For some reason youtube embeds no longer seem to be working on here? Something something cookies something something? If I look at console, it looks like it should be there, but it’s not showing up.
Anyone else having this issue? I’m generally pretty anti tracking cookie, so hope that’s not a requirement to enable here.
I am not sure how/why, but it is definitely related to the cookie settings that you select for this site. If all cookies other than essential ones are blocked, youtube embedded videos won’t be visible.
Marketing Cookies need to be allowed by the viewer in order for YouTube embeds to show.
Well that’s lame.
If you want to see the video, you can find it on Youtube and look for the Swim Easy Speed channel. I think it’s exactly @easyspeed994

Thanks - your thread was just an example. I like to post videos too and thought embeds had broken. I’ve allowed the marketing cookies for now.
Gotcha. I’ve had people comment on that before when I’ve posted videos and I was always able to see the posted video. Good to know the reason.

For having videos in the forum work, all you need to do is hit the “share” button on YouTube and take the youtu.be link that’s generated and put it here. That should embed it.

Right that’s how it is supposed to/how it used to work, but if you turn off marketing cookies that method now fails. Try it in a private(incognito) window and you’ll see what I show in the screenshots in the first post.

Does this mean if I turn on cookies I’ll be able to see youtube videos throughout the website?
If that’s true, it would be really nice to have the option to turn on cookies once and for all on the website each place there is a missing video. I’d happily turn them on if I was told
“Can’t see the video? You need to enable your cookies. They are part of what helps us produce awesome content like the video we want to show you. Click HERE to enable and see the video.”
Right now, I’m not sure how to turn cookies on for the site, and I’d love to do so.
Clear your browser cache, log out. Then when CookieBot opens up when you visit again, accept all our damned cookies.

I still want a button to click so that when I forget, and compulsively block cookies again in the future, I can click the big pretty button that says “I’ll do whatever you want, just let me see the video”
