You win Gerard!

I have always said the P2K is a better value then the P3 but looking at the P3 today I had to come to grips that the P3 is the sexiest tri bike out there. OK fine you win!

Now go and design another high performance pice of bike porn.

I wonder if once we go public, we can become part of the “Sindex”. Have you read about that, it’s this book that says perverted and socially objectionable stocks outperform the market. Porn, gambling, smokes, etc. I thought the name was quite clever. I guess it doesn’t matter since I don’t see us go public.

Hey Gerard, saw the new Cervelo TT/Tri clothing in the latest Velo Gear catalog.

Sharp looking stuff!

Brett

Just got mine (I’m always the last one) today. Can’t wait to ride in it. And what do you know, these were new products that we delivered to our dealers on time

Gerard.

Gerard, while we got you, a few questions and comments:

  1. how is that short video coming that shows us (some of us competent bike mechanics even) how to whip out/in a rear wheel change quickly on a P3 or P2 with rear dropouts (without having to manually grab the chain with a paw?)? if such a thing is possible, I would like to learn how.

  2. when do you suspect that your aero-section carbon post and associated post head (for the P2 and P3) will be available to average folk as an aftermarket upgrade purchase? any estimate of msrp?

  3. is the two-color scheme on the newer cervelos (I am asking mostly about the P2/P3) all paint, all powder coat, a combination, or something else?

  4. I’m might not be in the majority here, but I thought your single-color paint schemes in 2003 and before were actually nicer looking (silver and dark blue) then the 2-color schemes you are selling now. perhaps in the future you could offer a couple of color choices in those bikes of single-color paint schemes and it would cost your company about the same?

Thanks.

  1. I had forgotten about that video, sorry about that. I will do it this week and if not, please bug me again.

  2. MSRP is easy, $149. Date is tougher, probably May/June

  3. all paint

  4. not a chance that we will offer color options, it would just increase our inventory costs, and reduce our yearly output. Not that we want to maximize our output, but since demand is outstripping supply already, that would mean more dissatisfied customers. A better idea would be for us to make the bikes uglier and uglier until demand meets supply. And judging by your comments, we’re on the right track :-). That said, I think there will be at least one Cervelo you will really like next year.

Gerard.

Did you read that I’m a whore now? HInt hint.

Yes I did. I’m sorry, I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but somehow that failed to impress me

Impress who am I trying to impress? i’m talking buisness. A second hand P3 and the time of your life. Deal mad in heaven.

Gerard,

What do you think about a team secondhand racing Sponsorship telethon? I am sure you must have a secondhand 02 or 03 P3 that could use a loving but slightly demented home. You could offer up at a special discount and we could contribute to the cause. Mr. Tibbs has caused me to laugh enough to put up the first $25. Anybody want to add to the fund?

Dave

OK, I’m game. Especially since this is never going to work so I’ll play along.

  1. $1000 gets him a slightly used P2K, $2000 gets him a slightly used P3

  2. the slowtwitcher who raises the most money for this undeserving cause will get his/her choice of Cervelo apparel (top+bottom or a one-piece, cycling or tri).

  3. Mr. Tibbs cannot raise money for himself, no soft money, no posting of nude pictures to entice donations.

  4. Before any product is handed over to Mr. Tibbs, he has to agree to a restraining order that will keep him at least a few miles away from me.

I would be willing to get in on this by coming up with some “secondhand” wheels for the bike. The Silver/grey Tiliums would look pretty sweet on grey P3…

I have one so I would know!

Are you aware that the paint on the 2004 model P3 chips extremely easy?

Are you aware that the paint on the 2004 model P3 chips extremely easy?

Nice try, but there is no way in hell I’m chipping a 2004 for this guy. Not unless he promises never to be in the same country as I

Gerard

"4) Before any product is handed over to Mr. Tibbs, he has to agree to a restraining order that will keep him at least a few miles away from me. "

LOL (Made me snort for real.) Agreed. You are the funniest guy. I will stay as far away from you as you desire. I will even not post to you.

Brains and humor. Ladies this man is quite a catch.

I am being serious. Since February I’ve picked up a chip on each chain stay, the seat tube and top tube - from typical sunny California riding…

But I like Canada! Fine I will not go to Ottawa like I want.

OK Mr. Tibbs,

You now have two almost official corporate sponsors. Most pros would kill for a Cervelo Spinergy deal. I will up my pledge to $35 to see if you can get this thing off the ground. You talk a lot about marketing so let’s see how you roll with this. Just $965 to go for a P2K or $1,965 for a P3. I saw the bike list that Record10 put up so I would hit him up first.

Good Luck

Dave

Don’t forget that $1000 Canadian dollars is approximately $750 US dollars.

I’m out as per Gerard’s rules. I will now never post on this sublect again.
