Does anybody’s Tri Club use Yahoo Groups as their primary source of communication? If you do, do you think it works well? Is this where you post upcoming events too?
Are there other equivalent services available that are better?
Thanks, Andy

The Minnesota Triathlon Club uses Yahoo groups for their communications, and it seems to work fairly well. One problem that is common with Yahoo groups is that there can be a lot of spam, so a lot of groups have their settings on moderated/approved messages and memberships. If you have enough moderators that probably isn’t a huge deal-breaker.
our club…Trikats, uses yahoo group mail. on the receiving end, i’d have to say the system works pretty good. i’ve set up a couple of test groups and it seems to be very straight forward and user friendly.
Cleveland tri club used them till about 2 weeks ago. Seemed to work fine except for the fact that your e-mail in box could get kinda flooded if there were a lot of posts.
forgot to mention that aspect. our esteemed Trikats prez keeps super tight control of the list so thankfully it is not abused. i would recommend the same level of control.
