XLAB Turbo Wing bolts too short

I purchased a new XLAB Turbo Wing and two XLAB Gorilla cages. I intended to add an XLAB Mini Bag in the future. The Turbo Wing comes with two “X-straps” which can be used to attach a bag to the back. Following the XLAB installation instructions, the 5mm bolts, the threaded portion of which is only 12mm long, are supposed to pass through a fairly thick flat washer, the Gorilla cage hole, the aluminum Turbo Wing, the eyelet/grommet of the X-Strap, and finally should get threaded into the stabilizer nut. After passing through all of those things, there are only a couple threads exposed on the 5mm bolt, which aren’t even full diameter, because the bolt tapers a bit at the end for easy threading. I don’t doubt that the threads in the bolts or the stabilizer would strip if I tried to assemble it as their instructions show.

They should include two slightly longer 5mm bolts for people that want to include X-Straps.

What have other Turbo Wing users done to deal with this problem? Have you just not installed the X-Straps? Have you found and purchased longer bolts? I’m sure I could find a couple of longer stainless steel bolts with the same threading, but it’s annoying that I should need to do that.

I had thought about getting the Carbon Wing, which wouldn’t have this problem, but many people report that the bolts are too long and wear holes through XLAB bags placed inside the Carbon Wing. For that reason, I avoided the Carbon Wing, plus the Turbo Wing is cheaper and more compact.
